Did I just hear someone shout “Gomu Gomu no Shottogan?” – Some enemy, probably

A new Fighter hero in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) advanced server is added, named Sora, the Shifting Cloud. This hero has a shifting role mechanic, similar to Suyou. His passive allows him to switch from Assassin Thunder form or Tank Torrent form after stacking his passive. What makes this mechanic unique is that his transformation will depend on which direction you swipe his Ultimate.

The combos take a little bit of getting used to. However, once you know the basics, you will notice how Sora might be inspired by Luffy from One Piece. Perhaps, we will get an MLBB x One Piece anime collaboration event soon. With his massive kit, he might even make it to the top of the meta tier list.

With that said, let’s take a deep dive into the new MLBB hero Sora, including his skills and potential release date.

MLBB Sora skills explained based on the advanced server

There is a lot to unpack here, as Sora has multiple variants of his skills in MLBB. Here is a quick rundown of all of them.

Passive: Mystic Surge

Sora gains a stack of Cloudstep each time he damages an enemy hero or their summons, lasting briefly. After gathering enough stacks, he can ascend to either Thunder or Torrent by activating his Ultimate. Once ascended, building up additional stacks unlocks his True Art.

  • Thunder: Converts a portion of extra HP into Physical Attack, adopting an assassin style.
  • Torrent: Converts bonus Attack into additional Max HP, adopting a tank style.

Skill 1: Sundering Strike

Sora strikes twice, dealing Physical Damage based on his Attack power, then lunges forward for another hit that scales with his Max HP. After striking, he can dash to reposition.

This skill changes its effect and attack pattern based on the chosen True Art:

Sundering Strike: Thunderflash (Thunder)

Sora unleashes a flurry of strikes, dealing damage that scales with his Attack power, then lunges forward for an additional hit that draws from his Max HP. He can move freely while performing this skill.

Sundering Strike: Overwhelm (Torrent)

Sora strikes twice, dealing Physical Damage that scales with his Attack power and briefly slowing enemies. He then lunges forward, dealing additional damage based on his Max HP and stunning enemies for a short duration.

Skill 2: Windstride

Sora leaps forward, dealing Physical Damage based on his Attack power. If he collides with an enemy hero or reaches maximum range, he slams the ground for extra damage that also scales with his Max HP, briefly slowing enemies in the area. Striking a hero slightly reduces the ability’s cooldown.

This skill changes its effect and attack pattern based on the chosen True Art:

Windstride: Thunder Rush (Thunder)

Sora leaps forward, striking with damage that scales from his Attack power, then summons a thunderstorm that deals additional damage based on his Max HP and briefly slows nearby enemies. Landing a hit on a hero slightly reduces the cooldown.

Windstride: Skyfall (Torrent)

Sora leaps forward, dealing damage based on his Attack power and knocking enemies back toward his landing point. He then smashes the ground for additional damage that scales with his Max HP, sending enemies briefly airborne. Striking a hero slightly shortens the cooldown.

Ultimate: Shifting Skies

Sora attacks enemies and changes his skills based on the direction of your swipe.

  • Swipe left to ascend into Thunder for a short duration. Sora gains bonus Movement Speed, briefly becomes untargetable, and strikes nearby enemies with damage scaling from his Attack power.
  • Swipe right to ascend into Torrent for a short duration, pulling in nearby enemies and dealing damage that scales with his Max HP.

When is the release date of Sora in MLBB?

There is no official release date for Sora in MLBB yet. This hero is only available in the advanced server and will receive multiple adjustments until it’s ready for release. However, if we follow the formula, we should see him arrive sometime in mid-December 2025 or Early January 2026.

MOONTON Games usually releases new heroes once every three months or at the start of every competitive season. This has been the norm for a while, with Obsidia being the latest. This is why we are almost certain that the release date of Sora in MLBB will also follow the same format.

With that said, we’ll update this article when more information becomes available.
