Check out our guide on mastering Atlas the tank hero in MLBB.

Atlas is a menace when it comes to team fight-focused lineups in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). Not only can this tank hero rotate fast, but he is also the perfect counter to enemies who love to stick together. This makes him a huge threat during major objective contests.

However, despite this, Atlas does not exactly boast a guaranteed win condition. There are a lot of ways to counter this hero. One good example is simply having the Purify Battle Spell to counter his Ultimate. This means you can’t just pick this hero and expect the match to be in your favor.

With that said, here is a build guide for the MLBB tank hero Atlas, including her best items, skills, emblem, combos, and counters.

Skill analysis for Atlas in MLBB

Passive: Frigid Breath

Atlas generates Frigid Breath around him for a short duration each time he casts a skill. Enemies who remain within the area for a while will have their Movement Speed gradually reduced until they are briefly frozen.

While Frigid Breath is active, Atlas also gains additional Physical and Magic Defense.

Skill 1: Annihilate

Atlas smashes the ground, causing multiple explosions that deal Magic Damage to enemies.

Ejected State: If Atlas has separated from his Mecha Sentry, both he and his Mecha will unleash Annihilate together.

Skill 2: Perfect Match

Atlas enters Ejected State, gaining a burst of Movement Speed and immunity to slow effects. In this state, the Mecha Sentry follows the pilot and can only be controlled under certain conditions. Once they reunite, Atlas returns to the Mecha, dealing Magic Damage to nearby enemies and briefly stunning them.

Ejected State: Atlas and his Mecha share the same HP bar and also reduce a portion of the damage taken while in this state.

Atlas hurls chains around and begins channeling (only certain effects can interrupt him), dealing Magic Damage to enemy heroes hit and slowing them for a short duration.

If the skill is used again while channeling, Atlas will pull the targets toward him and slam them down at a chosen location, dealing additional Magic Damage.

Ejected State: The Mecha Sentry will return to Atlas immediately, but instead of stunning, it will apply a slowing effect.

Movement speed is very important for Atlas. This is why you will start with Rapid Boots for faster rotations. To pull off some surprise plays, go with the Conceal or Encourage blessing as your roaming Active.

When your enemies have too much health regeneration, get Dominance Ice to reduce their healing power. Follow this up with an Athena's Shield for heavy burst mages like Noivaria or Radiant Armor for multi-hit mages like Zhuxin.

If you are dealing with Physica Damage heroes like Lapu-Lapu or Hayabusa, get Antique Cuirass after your first Magic Defense item. Follow this up with an Immortality if you need an extra life or Fleeting Time if you need more consistent Ultimate casting.

If you are dealing with basic attack powerhouses like Miya or Karrie, you can replace your Antique Cuirass with a Blade Armor.

For the first slot, get Firmness for the extra adaptive defense or Agility for extra movement speed. The next tier should be Pull Yourself Together so you can use your Battle Spell more often. Focusing Mark is the final tier, so you can mark enemies and increase the damage they receive.

For the Battle Spell, you need to have the Flicker Battle Spell all the time. This is crucial for making big plays with your Ultimate ability. Otherwise, you can go for Purify if you think you need it more.

Easy combo tips to learn

Atlas has a very easy combo in MLBB, but it requires good execution. You start with Skill 2: Perfect Match, then activate Conceal to quickly reach your targets. Once you are within range, use your Ultimate: Fatal Links to pull nearby targets. Don't forget to drag your enemies to a favorable location by moving your Thumb while holding the Ultimate.

Once your Ultimate animation is done, cast your Skill 1: Annihilate to slow enemies further and prevent them from running away. If you want to close the gap faster, use your Flicker Battle Spell. This way, your enemies will have less time to react.

If you don't want to cast your Ultimate yet, you can also use Skill 2: Perfect Match and stick close to enemies until you activate the stuff effect. You can add Skill 1: Annihilate to slow them down while the mecha is charging in for the stun.

Hero and item counters for Atlas

Hero counters

Atlas in MLBB gives a lot of Crowd Control effects to enemies hit. This is why you need to avoid sticking close to him. Heroes like Valir, Kaja, and Akai are good counterpicks to keep him from getting too close.

On the other hand, Diggie is considered a hard counter for Atlas due to his Ultimate that purifies allies within range. This means the pull effect from Atlas' Ultimate is useless as long as the purify effect is active.

Item counters

As for items to counter Atlas in MLBB, go with Malefic Roar for Physical Damage heroes. If you are playing Magic Damage, Genius Wand, Divine Glaive, or a Wishing Lantern should be enough. Your only goal is to kill him before he gets too close to pull off a combo.

If you really can't avoid Atlas, go with Winter Crown no matter the type of hero you have. This will give you a bit of time to avoid the pull effect from his Ultimate.
