Here is what you need to know about the Lane Matchmaking feature in the MLBB Advance Server.

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Advanced Server introduced a role selection feature named Lane Matchmaking for ranked game mode. This feature allows you to select your preferred roles so you have a better chance of being matched with players who can fill other roles. This can potentially prevent matches where players have role conflicts, which can ruin team compositions.

On top of selecting your role, there are also additional features like role locking and an indicator of how long your queueing time would be based on your chosen role. Let’s do a quick dive into each of them:

What we know about the MLBB Role Lane Matchmaking feature

The MLBB Role Selection feature, also known as Lane Matchmaking, allows you to pre-pick your desired role before you start a queuing session in ranked matches. However, you need to select at least two roles before you can start a match. In a 5-man lobby, everyone needs to select a role in order to start matchmaking.

Lane Matchmaking in MLBB is only available for players on Epic and above ranks. Otherwise, you won’t be able to select your preferred role. You also need to play your selected or assigned role. Continuously avoiding playing your assigned role in the drafting phase may result in a penalty.

But that’s not all, there are other nifty features the game offers to make role selection more convenient.

Estimated queue time per role

When choosing a role in the MLBB Lane Matchmaking, you can also check an estimation of how long the queue time is. If you pick roles with fewer players, the queue time will be significantly shorter. The queue time may also be shorter if you pick multiple roles or select all of them.

If you select a role or lane where there are few players, you get a compensation called a Lane Lock Card. This card can be used before matchmaking to guarantee you get the role you prefer. However, this may not work in lobbies with more players.

Keep in mind that the Lane Matchmaking feature in the MLBB Advanced Server is still under development. More changes or additions might be included once it gets released on the Official Server. Players will have to keep their eyes peeled for more information in the future.
