Getting early access in MLB The Show 25

There's good news and bad news with the early access in the newest MLB game. The good news is that getting early access is extremely simple and anyone can play up to four days early. The bad news is that it's going to cost you some extra cash.

Early access in MLB The Show 25 is only obtainable if you pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch. The Digital Deluxe Edition costs $100, and if you pre-order on time, you can start playing on March 14 instead of waiting for March 18 like everyone else.

The Digital Deluxe Edition not only comes with four days of early access, but plenty of other in-game content as well. Here's a breakdown of what else your $100 gets you:

  • 5 The Show Packs for the Diamond Dynasty mode
  • Double daily rewards
  • 20 Show Packs
  • 1 20th Anniversary Choice Pack
  • 1 Diamond Choice Pack
  • 5 Gold Choice Packs
  • 20K Stubs
  • 1 Equipment Pack
  • 1 Cover Athlete Bat Skin

If you plan on playing MLB The Show 25 for hours on end after March 18, then the Digital Deluxe Edition is a decent bargin. However, if you're on the fence about the game but still like the idea of early access, you should probably wait for the reviews to come out and see if the game is worth the extra $30 to $40 to you. The Standard Edition of MLB The Show 25 costs $60 on Switch and $70 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Aside from pre-ordering the Digital Deluxe Edition of MLB The Show 25, there's no other way to gain early access. If you do decide to pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition, then you'll be able to pre-download the game prior to March 14 and start playing early on that day. Your progress will remain even after March 18 arrives and the rest of the world gains access to MLB The Show 25.
