A stabby stick and a cute little cephalopod is coming to Minecraft!
The upcoming Minecraft game drop titled Mounts of Mayhem has been announced. It will feature a new tiered weapon, the spear, a new Nautilus mob that you can tame, and many more. However, only two of the main features have been revealed. We can say the reveal was merely a teaser for what is to come in the game after the Copper Age update drops. We might be seeing more in the coming weeks.
For now, here is all of the content for the Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem update and our take on the possible release date.
Everything confirmed to arrive in the Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem update
Let’s take a look at all the new content revealed so far for the Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem update:
New Weapon: Spear

The spear is a new tiered weapon coming to Minecraft. It has two types of attack. The first one is the jab attack, which is a quicker way to deal damage. The charge attack, on the other hand, takes a bit of time and perfect timing to pull off. However, when you hit enemies with it, they will dismount and be knocked back. You can hold the charge attack for a brief time. When the spear starts shaking, it drops down and turns into a regular spear attack.
You can craft the spear using either Copper, Iron, Gold, or Netherite ingots. The higher the tier, the more damage you get from this weapon. However, it also gets heavier the better quality material you use. This means charge attack hold durations will be shorter.
If you are curious about the new weapon in Minecraft, we have a deep dive into its mechanics and how the spear might change how combat works in the game.
New Mob: Nautilus

The new Nautilus mob in Minecraft lets you ride it underwater. All you need to do is feed it pufferfish to tame it. Once you befriend it, you can mount it and receive the Breath of the Nautilus effect, which stops your oxygen bar from dropping down. It’s handy when exploring ocean biomes, as it also has a dash ability.
On top of the friendly mob, there is also a zombie Nautilus variant. Drowned zombies can ride this mob, allowing them to gain the same mobility you can get by riding a Nautlius. Needless to say, you will be at a huge disadvantage if you are being chased by these mobs.
