Put the buildings back together instead of destroying them. That’s what Recursive Destruction does in Marvel Rivals.

It's no secret that Marvel Rivals is full of challenges. From its events to its Battlepass progression, challenges are an important part of earning rewards. And one specific Marvel Rivals challenge requires you to trigger Recursive Destruction.

There's nothing that tells you what that is or how to do it within the game. You just kind of have to figure it out. So, of course, we did it for you and can tell you exactly how to trigger Recursive Destruction in the game so you can progress through Season 1's story missions.

How exactly to trigger Recursive Destruction while playing Marvel Rivals

Recursive Destruction is a new Marvel Rivals feature for Season 1. At the time of writing, it can only take place on the Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown map. This came alongside the Fantastic Four with the season.

As you can destroy a lot of the environment on most maps, this one does it backwards. Hence the name being Recursive Destruction. Instead of decimating a building, you deal damage and actually watch it get put back together.

Here's exactly how you can accomplish this feat:

  1. Play a game of Marvel Rivals on the Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown map
  2. Wait for H.E.R.B.I.E. to get past the first checkpoint
  3. Deal damage to any of the structures that allow for Recursive Destruction
  4. Watch as the structure goes from being broken down to rebuilt for the trigger to be successfully registered

Checkpoints two and three have the Recursive Destruction structures you're looking for in Marvel Rivals. Your best bet is to press the Chrono Vision button, which is defaulted to B on PC. This shows you areas of the map you can destroy in yellow. The Recursive Destruction ones are marked red instead.
