Marvel Rivals has taken the gaming world by storm. Many creators, pro players, and casual gamers have swapped from their original main to this new hero-themed battler. If you're one of them, but need a break after a long string of losses, why not play other games that are like Marvel Rivals?

We've got five choices, some obvious, some not, for you to give a chance.

5 games to play if you like playing Marvel Rivals

On this list, you'll find first-person and third-person entries alike. There are games labeled hero shooters, some that aren't, and then just fun superhero titles to enjoy. Let's take a look.

Marvel's Midnight Suns

This is a Marvel title with a roster just as vast as Marvel Rivals. Now, the gameplay is nothing like it, but if you just want to dive into more Marvel content after playing, Midnight Suns is the way to go.

It is a turn-based tactical RPG with some pretty obscure characters alongside some more well-known figures. There's a lot to learn from this game, so give it a try, and you may have a new favorite comic hero once you're done.

Paladins

Paladins is a hero shooter that has a bit of a cult following. This is definitely a game you'll want to play if you like Marvel Rivals. There are tons of characters to choose from and master, and of course, it is free-to-play.

If you make the switch and try it out, you'll see many similar gameplay elements. They might be a little dated, however, but with the game being out much longer than Rivals, they've had time to perfect every element.

DC Universe Online

This has nothing to do with Marvel or with hero shooters. In fact, it is a free-to-play MMO. If Marvel Rivals has given you the comic book itch and you want to expand your horizons, try one of the best DC hero games around.

DC Universe Online lets you create your own character to take on incredible number of battles, story missions, and side quests. You can be a hero or villain, and choose from powers that range from nature to lantern rings.

Deadlock

Deadlock is Valve's go at a hero shooter style MOBA. If the ability to pick a character with unique skills is what you're looking for, then this is definitely one of the games like Marvel Rivals you should try. It definitely takes a bit more focus, though.

You have lanes to control, objectives to conquer, and character builds to create in order to maximize the effectiveness of your chosen hero. It is a lot more in-depth than any other game on this list, but if you put the time into it, it's a blast.

Overwatch 2

The original Overwatch was not free-to-play, but Overwatch 2 is. And Marvel Rivals is supposed to the game that kills it, though it's demise has been greatly exaggerated. Chances are you probably played OW2 already.

If not, you'll have fun seeing the similarities between it and Marvel Rivals. It is first-person, however, and comes off as a much faster-paced title. Still, the essentials are the same, and many from the Rivals community came from it.
