Powder. Jinx. Check out who this chaotic, explosive character in Arcane and League of Legends is.
Jinx, previously known as Powder, continues her crazy antics and criminal activity throughout Arcane Season 2. But who was Jinx in Arcane Season 1, and in League of Legends lore? Learn more about all that here.
Jinx in Arcane Season 2
Jinx is caught in the middle of the power vacuum left by Silco's death. With Jinx wanted for her bombing of the Piltover Council, the chem-barons are scampering to give her up to the Enforcers.
She finds an unlikely ally in Sevika, as well as a child named Isha who she meets by chance. Vi joined the Enforcers and gassed out the old arcade that she and Powder used to play at - an act that enraged Jinx. She chose to escape instead of engaging Caitlyn's Enforcer squad, where she encounters the chem-baron Smeech.
Smeech was intent on surrendering Jinx to the Enforcers, but Sevika saved her and eliminated the chem-baron.
In episode 3, Caitlyn and Vi engage Jinx and Sevika in combat. Piltover's Finest had her pinned down, but this time it's Isha who saves her. Caitlyn, driven by rage and grief from losing her mother, shoots one of Jinx's fingers off.
This gave Sevika the window to unleash the Zaun Gray onto Piltover. Before they reach the surface, Jinx's contraptions dyed the toxic fumes neon colors. The city is smattered in bright pinks and blues after her latest act of terrorism.

Who is Powder / Jinx in Arcane Season 1?
Powder and Jinx were orphaned in the conflict between Piltover and the Undercity. This is when Vander, the Hound of the Undercity, adopts them. The two grow up alongside Mylo and Claggor.
The children organized a heist on a lab in Piltover, thanks to Ekko's tip. Unbeknownst to them, this was on the property of the Kirammans, and they were raiding Jayce's lab.
Powder picked up several Hex crystals in the lab. They get ambushed upon their return to the Undercity, and Powder is forced to throw their haul into the water. This attracted Mylo's ire, calling her a "jinx." While they ended up losing most of the haul, Powder kept the mysterious blue objects with her.
When Vi, Mylo, and Claggor organized their rescue of Vander after the latter got kidnapped by Silco, Powder was left alone with a flare. She wanted to help, and her latest creation, now empowered by the Hex crystal, worked a little too well. This resulted in the loss of Mylo and Claggor, as well as Vi being abducted by an Enforcer. Powder, left alone once again, was picked up by Silco.
After the timeskip, Powder has completely embraced her "Jinx" persona, with no small thanks to Silco's upbringing. Jinx does eventually manage to find Vi (or the other way around), but Vi is accompanied by Caitlyn, a Piltover Enforcer, which causes Jinx to be aggressive. Caitlyn and Vi were eventually rescued by the Firelights.
Jinx once again attacks, this time using mechanical, explosive butterflies on the bridge. A face-off between Jinx and Ekko, leader of the Firelights, happens on the Bridge of Progress. The fight left Jinx with severe injuries, and Silco brought her to Singed. The deranged scientist injected Shimmer into her bloodstream to save her and grant her enhanced abilities, but it was excruciatingly painful for Jinx.
Season 1 of Arcane ended with the tea party. Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, and Silco find themselves bound to chairs around a table. Jinx begs her sister to come back to her and kill Caitlyn, while Silco attempts to convince Jinx to come back to him. Overwhelmed, Jinx shoots Silco dead.
Jinx fires a rocket at the Piltover council after these events - and Arcane Season 1 ends with this cliffhanger.
Jinx in League of Legends
"The Loose Cannon" Jinx became a playable champion on October 10, 2013. She is a marksman, and can swap between her machine gun "Pow-Pow" and rocket launcher "Fishbones." Her ultimate, "Super Mega Death Rocket," has her shoot a big rocket - not unlike the one she shot at the end of Arcane Season 1.
Being a marksman, she is mostly played in the bottom lane. Her passive ability, "Get Excited," buffs her attack and movement speed greatly for a short period of time after she kills an enemy champion or destroys a structure. This is very in-line with Jinx's chaotic energy and destructive attitude.
