Mel full abilities and kit in League of Legends
The Soul's Reflection, Mel is releasing with the Arcane Councilor Mel skin.
Passive: Searing Brilliance
Whenever Mel uses an Ability she gains three bonus projectiles on her next Attack, up to nine maximum.
When Mel deals damage through an Ability or Attack she applies Overwhelm which stacks up damage to execute the enemy. If the enemy is hit by Mel with enough Overwhelm damage to kill them, the stacks are consumed executing them.
The first half of this passive encourages Mel to weave in basic attacks in-between her ability casts. Depending on the scaling of her abilities, a full AD/Attack Speed build may be viable for her.
Since the Shadow Imprint stacks infinitely, she can theoretically keep raising the execute threshold. This means that extended trades or fights against Mel is heavily swung into her favor.
The second part further coaxes you to weave normal attacks after spellcasts, but does not punish heavily if you don't.
Q - Radiant Volley
Mel fires a barrage of projectiles that explode around a target location dealing damage repeatedly to enemies within the area
This is a simple ability, meant to be her bread-and-butter for clearing waves and short trades or pokes.

W - Rebuttal
Mel gains Move Speed, forms a barrier around herself that reflects enemy projectiles back at the attacker, and prevents taking damage.
This is the ability that makes her unique. Projectile reflection is something new to League of Legends, and thus a mechanic that only Mel has. It also provides her with damage immunity. The general rule for this ability is: if an ability gets blocked by Yasuo's W - Wind Wall, then Mel can reflect it.
GWEN MEL IS IMMUNE.
E - Solar Snare
Mel fires a radiant orb, Rooting enemies in the center while dealing damage over time and Slowing inan area around it.
Like Q - Radiant Volley, this ability is also simple. It's reminiscent of Anivia Q or old Aurelion Sol Q. This offers crowd control for her or her allies to capitalize on, and she can also use this to peel off ganks or engages.
R - Golden Eclipse
Mel strikes all enemies marked with Overwhelm regardless of range, dealing additional damage for each stack of Overwhelm. Ranks of Golden Eclipse increase Overwhelm's damage.
Her ultimate plays heavily off her Passive, which makes stacking them even more rewarding. This claims the stacks globally, eliminating the need for Mel herself to chase after them.
While she has several ways to protect herself, she lacks mobility and defensive abilities for her allies. She's somewhat of an artillery mage, close to the likes of Xerath, or someone like Lux. She seems to be primarily designed for mid lane, but she should also be viable both as a mage carry in bot or as a mage support.
