Can you play Kingdom Come: Deliverance II for free on its first day of release?

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is arriving in a few short weeks, and fans of the original can't wait to get their hands on the highly-anticipated sequel. While PlayStation 5 gamers are planning to purchase whatever edition they want, Xbox and PC players are wondering about Kingdom Come: Deliverance II's availability on Game Pass.

The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance was available to play with a Game Pass subscription shortly after its release, so it's natural to wonder whether the sequel will follow that path as well. It's also important for Xbox and PC players to know if their Game Pass subscription will cover the game because if it doesn't, they need to make plans to purchase it in its entirety.

Below, we'll go over everything we know about Kingdom Come: Deliverance II on Game Pass.

Will Kingdom Come: Deliverance II be on Game Pass?

Unfortunately, it appears Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will not be a Game Pass title on its first day of release. As of right now in early January, developer Warhorse Studios has still not made any announcement about the sequel's arrival on the subscription service. While this doesn't 100% rule out Kingdom Come: Deliverance II coming to the service, that's never a good sign.

We're just three weeks away from the release date of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, so in all likelihood, we would've heard confirmation by now. It should be noted that the original Kingdom Come wasn't a day one Game Pass title, either. However, the game did eventually arrive on the service about a year after its initial release.

Warhorse Studios could go down a similar road with its newest game. However, right now, nothing is a certainty. It's entirely possible Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will never arrive on Game Pass and fans will have to pay full price until there's a sale.

If you were banking on Game Pass, here's how much the new Kingdom Come will cost on Xbox and PC:

  • Xbox Series X|S - $70 (base game)
  • PC via Steam and Epic Games - $60 (base game)

There's also the Gold Edition for $30 extra on both platforms as well as a Collector's Edition for $200 that's exclusive at GameStop.
