Here’s a quick guide for Blade in Honkai Star Rail!

Blade was one of the first limited 5-stars in Honkai Star Rail, and he'll be getting a tune-up in HSR 3.2. He may not have been relevant recently, but this buff may push his value higher. Here's an updated Blade build guide in Honkai Star Rail including teams, Relics, and Light Cones.

Blade build in Honkai Star Rail

Blade is a 5-star Wind character on the Path of Destruction. He has a lot of survivability and can take some punishment, but he also drains his own HP. For his kit, manipulating the timings of his healing Talent and his Ultimate with uses of his Skill is key to making the most out of your Blade.

Which Blade Traces should you level up?

You should prioritize leveling up his Basic ATK, followed by his Talent and Skill. Since you'll most likely have a healer on the team anyway, levels on his Ultimate are a luxury rather than a must.

Blade's Relic Build

  • Body: CRIT DMG% or CRIT Rate
  • Feet: Speed or HP%
  • Planar Sphere: Wind DMG%
  • Link Rope: HP%
  • Substats:
    • Speed
    • CRIT DMG% or CRIT Rate
    • HP%

Best Relic Sets for Blade

4pc Longevous Disciple

  • 2pc: Increases Max HP by 12%.
  • 4pc: When the wearer is hit or has their HP consumed by an ally or themselves, their CRIT Rate increases by 8% for 2 turn(s) and up to 2 stacks.

Blade's kit revolves around him using his own HP to strengthen himself, and the 4pc effect amplifies that.

2pc Bone Collection's Serene Demesne

  • 2pc: Increases the wearer's Max HP by 12%. When the wearer's Max HP is 5000 or higher, increases the wearer's and their memosprite's CRIT DMG by 28%.

You'll end up effortlessly hitting the 5000 HP threshold anyway, and this is a great bonus to have.

2pc Rutilant Arena

  • 2pc: Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 8%. When the wearer's current CRIT Rate reaches 70% or higher, the wearer's Basic ATK and Skill DMG increase by 20%.

A good second choice for a Planetary Set. If you have better substats for this set, you can opt for Rutilant Arena.

Best Blade Light Cones

Premium pick: The Unreachable Side

This is Blade's Signature Light Cone and, unsurprisingly, his best-in-slot. He's using his own HP on almost every turn, meaning that he'll proc the DMG bonus consistently.

Free-to-play pick: Ninja Record: Sound Hunt

Works similarly to The Unreachable Side, except the buffs happen on heals instead. This will proc considerably less, but the HP% bonus on this Light Cone isn't bad either.

Accessible pick: Flames Afar

If you don't have either of the Light Cones above, consider buying Flames Afar from the Forgotten Hall. This Light Cone improves Blade's survivability and gives him a sizable buff.

Best Blade teams

Despite the massive survivability built into Blade's kit, he still needs a sustain character in the party. Following conventional party setups, it would be Blade, a sub-DPS, a support (Harmony) character, and an Abundance/Preservation character.

For sub-DPS, the best choices that Blade has are Tribbie and Jade. Tribbie provides buffs, while Jade synergizes with Blade's AoE attacks.

For the Harmony character, you're looking for characters who can advance Blade's action, like Sunday.

For the sustain character, a popular choice has been Luocha, but you can certainly choose other units for this.
