Much like Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3, Honkai Star Rail also features Banners, called Warp Banners. The Warp banners are available for a limited time and players have a higher chance of getting the promotional five-star character during this period. Here’s all we know about Honkai Star Rail Warp Banners.

What are Honkai: Star Rail Warp Banners?

You need to use the Warp system to get new 5-star, 4-star as well as Light Cones in Honkai Star Rail. Light Cones are similar to weapons in the game and provide significant advantages in your missions. 

There are four different types of Honkai: Star Rail Banners:

  • Stellar Warp Banner
  • Departure Warp Banner
  • Character Event Banner
  • Light Cone Banner

Honkai: Star Rail Warp Banners Explained

You can convert 160 Star Rail Jades into a Star Rail Pass. The Star Rail pass is the currency used to roll on the Standard Banner.

You can also convert the Star Rail Jades into a Star Rail Special Pass. The Star Rail Special Pass can be used to roll on the Event Banner. 

Alternatively, you can also purchase Oneiric Shards with real money. Oneiric Shards are convertible into Star Rail Jades if you want to roll more. This is an additional method of rolling Star Rail Jades for those who do not want to simply earn their Jades through the game.

Honkai: Star Rail Event Warp Banners Drop rate

The Warp System in Honkai: Star Rail is based on gacha so there is a bit of luck involved. But in a manner that is similar to loot boxes, the Honkai: Star Ral Event Warp Banner drop rate is as follows. 

The limited character event warp drop rates are as follows:

  • 0.6% chance of receiving a five-star character
  • 5.1% chance of receiving a four-star character or Light Cone
  • 90 pulls to guarantee a five-star character

To encourage players to go down the warp path, the game has set a chance of 50% for promotional five-star characters. If the first roll does not give you these five-star characters then it is guaranteed you will get it in the next roll. Similarly, four-star characters have a drop rate of one in ten. 

Stellar Warp Banner

The Light Cone Warp Banner is a permanent banner.

The Stellar Warp Banner and the Departure Warp Banners are permanent banners. They have no end date, but there is a crucial difference between the two.

  • 0.6% chance of receiving a five-star character or Light Cone
  • 5.1% chance of receiving a four-star character or Light Cone
  • 90 pulls to guarantee a five-star character or Light Cone

Stellar Warp Banner requires 1 Star Rail Pass per Warp. It features several characters including 4-star and 5-star characters. Due to the Banner’s drop rate, you are guaranteed a higher-level character every ten warps.

Departure Warp Banners

The Departure Warp Banner is a permanent Banner

Now, we said that Departure Warp banners are permanent banners. This means it does not have an end date, so it won’t expire. But it is limited to 50 warps after which it will no longer be visible. 

A 5-star Character is guaranteed within 50 warps and what’s more, you only need eight Star Rail Passes to get ten Warps. The Departure Warp banner also has a significantly high drop rate, so this makes it one of the must-try Warps in Honkai Star Rail. 


Event Character Warp Banner

Event Character Banners are time-limited and provide increased drop rates for particular characters. A special Star Rail Pass is required for these banners. 

  • 0.6% chance of receiving a five-star character
  • 5.1% chance of receiving a four-star character or Light Cone
  • 90 pulls to guarantee a five-star character

The current Event Character Banner is the Butterfly on a Sword Tip (as on April 28, 2023) and will be replaced on May 17, 2023 with the Swirl of Heavenly Spear banner

Light Cone Warp Banners


Light Cone Warp Banners have higher drop rates for five-star and four-star characters. The extra percentage chance of receiving the light cones makes these Warp Banners extremely valuable for the average player.

  • 0.8% chance of receiving a five-star Light Cone
  • 6.6% chance of receiving a four-star Light Cone
  • 80 pulls to guarantee a five-star Light Cone

Light Cone Banners are limited-time offerings. They require a Star Rail Special Pass and players are guaranteed a four-star character every ten rolls.
