Here are some tips on how to win one of the most frustrating Tavern Brawls in Hearthstone.
This week's Hearthstone Tavern Brawl is Return of Mechazod. This particular mode requires you to work with another player to defeat Gearmaster Mechazod. Read on for our Return of Mechazod Tavern Brawl guide on how to win.
Hearthstone Return of Mechazod Tavern Brawl
Claiming victory in Hearthstone's Return of Mechazod Tavern Brawl may take a few games. This is because of the randomness involved for Gearmaster Mechazod, your partner, and yourself. Gearmaster Mechazod can cast Bomb Salvo to damage three random targets, Double Zap to attack both players, Overlock to gain attack, and Prioritize to damage the biggest minion. Fortunately, you just have to get Gearmaster Mechazod's health down to zero since he doesn't have a second phase.
Return of Mechazod Tavern Brawl guide
If you enter this Tavern Brawl as a Druid, aim for cards that can create a bunch of minions on the board. Flood the board before using the Savage Roar spell to deal damage to Gearmaster Mechazod. If you're a Mage, then make use of the Spell Damage cards and help your Druid partner with ramp or mana increase with a card like Arcane Golem. For both classes, try not to attack Mechazod with the early-game minions.
As a Druid, a couple of key cards to look out for include Millhouse Manastorm and Lorewalker Cho. In our playthrough, our random Druid partner played these minions. This combination allowed us to cast spells for zero mana and give our partner a copy of those spells. We made the most out of our turn since we knew that Gearmaster Mechazod would destroy Lorewalker Cho right after.

As a Mage, cards such as Mirror Entity and Brann Bronzebeard are useful. Mirror Entity summons a copy of your partner's next minion. If your partner gets this spell thanks to Lorewalker Cho, then you both can also make use of it. Meanwhile, Brann Bronzebeard makes your Battlecries trigger twice. You can use this alongside cards like Refreshment Vendor or Earthen Ring Farseer to heal your partner and yourself. It's also possible to use Brann Bronzebeard alongside Coldlight Oracle for card draw.
Don't forget about the Spell Damage aspect of the Mage deck. We had cards such as Pyroblast and Fireball to make the most out of this. Meanwhile, our partner flooded the board using Violet Teacher before casting Savage Roar for buffs. By working together, we eventually defeated Gearmaster Mechazod.
This can be a frustrating Tavern Brawl to start, but as you play more matches with other players who are also on the same boat, you should eventually claim victory.
