Halo Infinite announced a new Third-Person Mode is coming to the game, but when can you expect it to arrive?
Over the weekend at the 2024 HCS World Championships, Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries made several intriguing announcements. For starters, 343 Industries has a new name going forward and will be making some changes to the way Halo is developed. Another announcement the studio made is an official Third-Person Mode is coming to Halo Infinite soon.
For the past couple of years, players have been able to download unofficial mods for Halo Infinite that implement third-person gameplay. However, the player base has asked for official support for this point of view ever since Infinite's launch, and the developers are finally giving the community what it wants. The question now is when the mode will be launched.

Halo Infinite Third-Person Mode release date
The Senior Community Manager for Halo Infinite, John "Unyshek" Junyszek, stated at HCS Worlds that the "work-in-progress" Third-Person Mode is currently slated for a November release. Of course, this timeline could still change, especially seeing as the mode is still in its beta phase. However, November is only a month away, so the developers clearly feel confident in it if they're ready to launch it this soon.
Along with the release window announcement, it was also revealed that Third-Person Mode will only be available in Firefight mode to start. The developers followed that up by saying the mode will eventually arrive in PvP modes and the Forge as well. There was no mention of the possibility of Third-Person mode being available in the Campaign, so expect it to stay in multiplayer for the foreseeable future.
Whenever the mode does arrive, players will be able to freely switch between first-person and third-person POVs. It also appears that compatible modes will be able to switch all players to either POV at the same time.
Currently, that's all the information we have regarding Third-Person Mode in Halo Infinite. As November draws closer, we should hear more about the mode and when it could potentially arrive.
