Genshin Impact is adding another character to the roster! Here's what we know about the luchador Varesa, her kit, abilities, Talents, and Constellations.
Varesa kit
Varesa is a 5-star Electro Catalyst from Natlan. This makes her the first 5-star Electro character from Natlan, as well as the second Catalyst character from the region. She will be playable alongside Iansan in an upcoming update.
Note that the details of Varesa's kit, Constellations, and Talents below did not come from official Genshin Impact or HoYoverse sources, and should be taken with a grain of salt.
Varesa Combat Skills
Varesa swaps between two forms with her Fiery Passion mechanic. This is separate from the Nightsoul State that all characters from Natlan have.
Normal Attack: By the Horns
Varesa has a unique normal attack set. All hits deal Electro DMG, and the charged and plunge attack are Nightsoul-aligned.
Her Charged Attack headbutts opponents in front and sends her into the air. Meanwhile, her Plunge Attack has an additional effect wherein if it hits an enemy or Varesa is in combat upon landing, she gains Nightsoul points. If she reaches maximum Nightsoul points through this, she enters the Fiery Passion state.
While in the Fiery Passion state, Varesa's normal, charged, and plunge attacks deal more damage.
Elemental Skill: Riding the Night-Rainbow
Varesa rushes forward, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG to enemies in her path. She also gains 20 Nightsoul points and the "Follow-Up Strike" effect.
This skill has a Tap and Hold version.
- Tap: Rush forward
- Hold: Enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state and switch to Sudden Onrush mode.
This skill has 2 charges. When Varesa enters Fiery Passion, the cooldown is reset and it will deal more damage.
Fiery Passion
- When Varesa is not in the Fiery Passion state, her Plunging Attacks grant Nightsoul points.
- She will enter Fiery Passion when she maxes out her Nightsoul points through Plunging Attacks, or after casting Elemental Burst.
- When in Fiery Passion, she will also enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state.
- In Fiery Passion, Varesa's Normal Attacks, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst gain buffs.
- A special Elemental Burst can be performed after a Plunging Attack while in Fiery Passion.

Deal Nightsoul-aligned AoE Electro DMG and enter the Fiery Passion state. This deals more DMG if she is already in the Fiery Passion state.
Varesa will activate Apex Drive after using a Plunging Attack while in the Fiery Passion state.
Apex Drive
- Increase her interruption resistance
- Varesa ignores her Elemental Burst CD and consumes less energy to use her special Elemental Burst, "Dazzling Descent: Volcanic Collapse."
Varesa Passive Skills
Tag-Team Triple Jump!
After using Elemental Skill, the damage of the next plunging attack is increased. This effect is greater if she is in the Fiery Passion state.
The Hero Twice-Returned!
Varesa gains a stacking ATK buff when a party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst.
Blazing Heart, Singular Advance
Varesa's Sprint speed is increased. While out of combat, her Stamina consumption while sprinting is also increased.
When in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics, party members will restore 20 Phlogiston when consuming food. This does not take effect in Domains or the Spiral Abyss.
Varesa Constellations
- Undying Passion
- The bonus DMG from Tag-Team Triple Jump! is always enhanced whether or not Varesa is in the Fiery Passion state.
- She gains an ATK buff when entering or exiting the Fiery Passion state.
- While in Sudden Onrush, consume less Nightsoul points.
- Beyond the Edge of Light
- Enter Apex Drive after using a Plunge Attack, regardless of Fiery Passion state.
- The interruption resistance from Apex Drive is increased.
- Restore energy when hitting an enemy with the Plunge Attack.
- Unbowed Resolve - Elemental Burst level and level cap increased.
- The Courage to Press On - Gain different buffs based on her state when using Elemental Burst:
- When Fiery Passion and Apex Drive are not active, gain a massive increase in Plunging Attack DMG.
- If either Fiery Passion or Apex Drive are active, the Elemental Burst deals increased DMG.
- Thoughts Floating on the Warm Breeze - Normal Attack level and level cap increased.
- A Hero of Justice's Triumph
- Restore Energy when entering Apex Drive
- Plunge Attacks and Elemental Burst gain CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG.
- When using the Hold version of Elemental Skill, or taps the Elemental Skill while in Sudden Onrush mode, restore Nightsoul points to maximum.
