This FPS and roguelike mashup seems fun.
Diabotical Rogue, the new game developed by GD Studio, has launched for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on June 4.
Diabotical Rogue is GD Studio's second release ever. The studio was founded by Dota 2 host and former professional Quake and World of Warcraft player James "2GD" Harding, who previously worked on Diabotical, a free-to-play fast-paced FPS that resembled Quake.
If you've played Diabotical before and are wondering if you should buy Diabotical Rogue, find out what the new game is about here.
What is Diabotical Rogue?
Diabotical Rogue is an online and team-based PvP FPS with roguelike elements, as the name suggests. FPS and roguelike hits such as Overwatch 2, Team Fortress 2, Apex Legends, Risk of Rain 2, and Slay the Spire were the inspiration for GD Studio.
The roguelike system employed in Diabotical Rogue shows up in every match as players are presented with three options every time they must make a choice. They can choose between three suits, each with "unique weapons and abilities" and upgrade them throughout the match.
On top of that, there's a roguelike progression tree for each suit.

What are the modes available in Diabotical Rogue's early access?
There are two modes available in Diabotical Rogue during early access:
- Wipeout: A 4v4 mode in which players have to eliminate the whole opponent team to win the round. The respawn timers increase after each death.
- Warmup: A chaotic 16v16 battle.
Even though these are the only two game modes available for now, GD Studio is working alongside Counter-Strike legends Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund and Adam "friberg" Friberg to develop a new PvP mode.
GD Studio also expects the community to chime in as the game features a custom map editor. This feature allows each player to create their own maps and test them in custom lobbies.
How much does Diabotical Rogue cost?
GD Studio is selling the game for $19.99 on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
You can, though, purchase it for just $14.99 on Epic Games Store until June 11 and on Steam until June 18.
