Crossplay is the way.
A lot of multiplayer games have implemented crossplay over the years. This feature allows you to play with your friends independently if you use the same platform. Of course, players asked the PUBG: Battlegrounds developers to add crossplay, too.
PUBG went live in December 2017 without crossplay as the game initially launched for PC only. Although the developers enabled crossplay at the end of 2019, the feature is still limited. Read on to learn which platforms benefit from crossplay in PUBG and how to turn it on.
Does PUBG have crossplay?
As of April 2024, PUBG has crossplay enabled for all recent Xbox and PlayStation consoles, which are the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
Despite all these years, the developers haven't enabled crossplay between PC and console. So, if you're playing PUBG on PC, you can only play with other PC players.

How to enable crossplay in PUBG
As long as you have a PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X|S to play PUBG, you can enable the feature to queue with friends who play on different consoles and face plenty of different adversaries.
To make use of crossplay, players must make sure that the setting is enabled in the menu. Follow the steps below to turn crossplay on in PUBG.
- Launch PUBG on your console
- Open your Settings
- Head to the Gameplay tab
- Leave the Cross-Platform Play enabled in General Settings as the screenshot below shows
Similarly, if you only want to enter a game with players who use the same console as you, all you have to do is turn off the crossplay feature in PUBG's menu.
What about PUBG Mobile?
While PUBG Mobile is an adaptation of the original game, it is still a popular shooter for smartphones. And luckily for the players, it has crossplay between iOS and Android — the main operating systems for mobile.
The crossplay feature is automatically enabled in PUBG Mobile, and there's no way to turn it off.
