Silent Hill f is surprisingly one of the most optimized UE5 games to date, though it’s not without its fair share of issues. One of the infuriating problems on PC is the insane screen flickering and tearing that makes it almost impossible to play the game.
For us, screen flickering in Silent Hill f increased significantly halfway through the story after Hinako and Shu come out of Rinko's house. If you’re struggling with this issue as well, or simply need a heads-up on how to fix it for future references, you’re in the right place. Here are a few ways to fix this issue.
How to reduce screen flickering in Silent Hill f

The best way to reduce or fix screen flickering in Silent Hill f is to turn on motion blur. Sadly, if you’re anything like us, this could make you sick, especially if you’re not used to motion blur in games.
Surprisingly, this seems to fix this issue, so it’s worth the gamble, though no doubt this solution is a double-edged sword. Another way to reduce screen tearing is by locking the FPS. You can either lock it to 30 or 60, depending on your preference.
Some players suggest playing the game in windowed mode to reduce flickering, though we have yet to try this for ourselves. Speaking of which, simply restarting your PC may also fix the problem, at least it did for us.
These are some ways to reduce or fix screen flickering in Silent Hill f. Please note that these aren’t official solutions provided by Konami. As of this writing, the Japanese publisher has yet to address the issue and deploy a patch or hotfix.
