How to find Rinko’s house in Silent Hill f

Confused about how to get to Rinko’s house in Silent Hill f? You’re in the right place! Once you get the key to Sakuko’s Mailbox and trigger the cutscene with Shu, it’s time to go to Rinko’s house.

​However, finding it can be a bit tricky, especially due to the maze-like pathways of the paddies in Ebisugaoka. If you’re anything like us, you may find yourself running back and forth between dead ends and tiring yourself out.

​As such, in this guide, we explain which path to take to reach Rinko’s house in Silent Hill f.

Take the path downwards from the forest and reach the edge of the rice fields. There, Shu will ask you to head to Rinko’s house. From here on, head straight and take the third narrow pathway on the left, as marked in the screenshot above.

The path on the right leads to a dead end. Instead, turn left and take the first right. Beyond the scarecrow, you'll find crops drying — watch for the fog monster attacking from the field.

​Once you have taken it down, keep heading straight and take the first left. There’s another monster here, so don’t forget to make a quick work of it. This one has a red growth on its face, so it might take a few extra hits to go down.  We recommend avoiding it altogether if your weapon’s durability is low, as — spoiler warning — there’s a boss fight approaching. More on this below.

​While the path to Rinko’s house is on the left, we recommend exploring the area on the right first. Here, move the logs to find a school paper cut on the back for some sweet Ebisugaoka lore!

​Return to the main path and continue heading straight. You will spot a bunch of red flowers on the ground, which is a cue that you’re heading in the right direction. Another monster will jump unexpectedly from the paddy when you least expect it, so it’s best to keep a finger on the dodge button.

​You can find a bunch of healing materials on the left, so don’t forget to explore that side. The path to Rinko’s house lies on the right. As you move forward, prepare to be jumped by another monster with red growth on its face. This one’s pretty tricky to dodge as it will barge straight from the right and won’t give you much time to react. Once you’re done with it, continue in this direction, beyond the red outgrowths, until you hear Shu’s voice. Now it’s time to prepare for a gruesome boss fight.

This is easily the toughest encounter so far in Silent Hill. However, it’s not downright impossible if you map out the boss’s attack patterns. Before we get into the details, know that you have to fight this monster twice, so conserve your resources accordingly. There’s a repair kit, a bandage, and a weapon in this area, so make sure to pick them before you start the encounter.

​Thankfully, the giant monster will go down easily, even on the highest difficulty. You just have to stagger it and rain down light attacks whenever you get the chance. First, make sure to lock in and stay away from it as much as possible, since it can use its tentacle-like arm to do a swing attack.

​As soon as the fight starts, it will do a howling maneuver that can drain Hinako’s sanity. As such, dodge or run far away from the monster immediately. The best time to stagger it is when you see it preparing to charge towards you with its giant sword. Simply strafe left or right, as it is quite easy to dodge, while charging your focus attack. Once it stops, you will get a few seconds to land the charged attack, which will stagger it. As soon as it’s out, rain down light or heavy attacks, but be prepared to dodge away as soon as you see it moving.

On hard difficulty, it took two staggers to take it out. Once it’s dead, use the well to get the key. Unfortunately, the giant red monster will wake up and bring one of the fog puppet monsters alongside it. We recommend taking out the smaller enemy first and then using the same tactic to take down the giant. Once you’re done, grab the key from the well and head to the storehouse quickly before it wakes up.

The final obstacle on the way to Rinko’s house is the scarecrow puzzle in the fog-infested field.

Once you’re out in the field, you’ll come across a group of twisted scarecrows in school uniforms. To solve this field scarecrow puzzle, you’ll have to pull out the right Flash Card from one of the scarecrows, depending on the riddle. Doing so will point you towards the next group of scarecrows. Conversely, if you pull the wrong Flash Card, the scarecrow will become a monster and try to kill you.

​You have to solve five riddles in the field scarecrow puzzle to escape this limbo of an area and reach Rinko’s house. Below we have listed all riddles and the scarecrows withholding the correct Flash Cards.

“Can you even imagine how I feel? I’ll put on my polite smile for now.”

“Can you even imagine how I feel? What it’s like to have been deceived by you for so long?”

“Can you even imagine how I feel? He never once looked at me the way he looked at you. Not once.”

“Can you even imagine how I feel? You’ve always been such an eyesore.”

“Can you even imagine how I feel? You hurt me, and even hurt him, too. Do you know how it feels to force a smile when I’m staring at that disgusting face of yours?!”

And that's pretty much it! Once you're out of the field, you're pretty much at Rinko's doorstep.
