What is the expected price of the Switch 2?
Following the official reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2, many fans had more questions than answers. The reveal showcased the console itself, the new Joycons, and a look at another possible Mario Kart installment. However, the biggest question fans had was regarding the price.
As with any new product, the price is always going to be a sticking point with consumers. The cost of the Switch 2 will determine if players make the upgrade from the original Switch or if they purchase one at all.

What is the cost of the Nintendo Switch 2?
After the Switch 2 Direct event happened on April 2, the pre-order links for the console began to go live across Nintendo's website. We have a more in-depth guide on pre-orders if you'd like to check that out as well.
When the pre-order links went live, so did the prices for the Switch 2. However, there appears to be some disparity in the pricing model depending on where you live. According to the US version of the Nintendo Store, the Switch 2 is going to cost $450 for the base model and $500 for the Mario Kart World bundle, which arrives during the fall of 2025.

If we look over at the UK Nintendo Store, though, we can see that the Switch 2 costs nearly 400 pounds for the base model and 460 pounds for the Mario Kart World bundle. These numbers don't make a ton of sense, as 400 pounds converted to US currency is around $512. We'll have to wait and see why the prices are different between the two regions when Nintendo officially talks about the prices.
The Switch 2 Experience events are beginning all across the world in early April, so we should hear more about the prices then. Pre-orders go live starting on April 8 as well, so the prices should be locked in by that date. We'll see if the prices change between the US and UK regions to more correctly match up with each other, or if UK folks simply have to pay more for the console.
