NBA 2K has picked three different cover athletes for NBA 2K25.
NBA 2K announced on July 10 all the NBA athletes featured across the four covers of each NBA 2K25 edition.
NBA 2K picked one current NBA star from the Boston Celtics, one retired NBA star, and one WNBA star from the Las Vegas Aces to appear on the covers of NBA 2K25. Without further ado, see every cover athlete of NBA 2K25 and what they have done to earn this honor.

Jayson Tatum (Standard Edition and All-Star Edition)
The Boston Celtics' superstar forward-guard Jayson Tatum will star in the cover of a NBA 2K game for the first time in his life.
This achievement comes just mere months after the 26-year-old helped the Boston Celtics win the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. He's also a five-time All-Star and will play for Team USA at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
"It’s an honor to be named a cover athlete for NBA 2K25," Tatum said to 2K's official newsroom. "I’ve been playing NBA 2K since I was a kid and it’s been a dream to one day be on the cover. Even after coming off an NBA Championship, it’s humbling to see this come to life."

A'ja Wilson (WNBA Edition and All-Star Edition)
While Jayson Tatum is the cover athlete of NBA 2K25's Standard Edition and All-Star Edition, A'Ja Wilson appears in the GameStop-exclusive WNBA Edition and the All-Star Edition as well. The Los Angeles Aces player is a back-to-back WNBA Champion and two-time WNBA MVP.
Although A'Ja Wilson has quite a resumé, this will be the first time she makes it into the cover of an NBA 2K game.
"Being featured on the NBA 2K25 cover is a big moment for me and a testament to the ever-growing fandom of the WNBA," A'Ja Wilson said. "Seeing more and more WNBA athletes scanned into NBA 2K25 to best capture the style and confidence of the league has been empowering, and I can't wait for fans to experience it in-game."
Vince Carter (Hall of Fame Edition)
While NBA 2K chose two active players for the other editions of NBA 2K25, the publisher relied on the legendary Vince Carter to appear in the Hall of Fame Edition.
Vince Carter is a 2024 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee, and while he made the All-Star games eight times in his career, most know him for his unique dunks in games and most notably the dunk contests.
He joined the NBA in 1998 and went on to play for the Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, and Atlanta Hawks until retiring in 2020.
"Between the honors NBA 2K and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame have bestowed upon me, this year is an unforgettable one, making me pause with gratitude at my career," Vince Carter said. "Being named a cover athlete would have always been a special moment for me, but it is a particular honor to be on the cover of the NBA 2K25 Hall of Fame Edition."
