Here’s when you can get your hands on Arc Raiders, the upcoming third-person extraction shooter from Embark Studios.
Curious about Arc Raiders’ release date? You’re in the right place! Arc Raiders is a third-person extraction shooter in the vein of Helldivers 2 and The Division’s Dark Zone. Its counterparts include popular titles such as Crytek’s Hunt Showdown and BattleState Games’ Escape from Tarkov.
Arc Raiders takes place in a post-apocalyptic world brimming with rusted buildings, dilapidated facilities, and vast open spaces overgrown with vegetation. If the recent playtests were any indication, Arc Raiders is shaping up to be a safe but polished extraction shooter that’s equal parts fun and frantic. Here’s exactly when you can get your hands on it.

When is Arc Raiders' release date?
Arc Raiders is set to launch on Oct. 30. It will be available on PC (Steam, Epic Store, Nvidia Geforce Now), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Unfortunately, the game’s $60 deluxe edition doesn’t offer early access. That said, there will be a free, three-day server slam test from Oct. 17 to Oct. 19 in case you want to try the game early on.
Arc Raiders is an Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) title, much like Embark Studios’ free-to-play game, The Finals, so expect it to be a visually demanding title, especially on PC.

What to expect from Arc Raiders?
Arc Raiders’ core gameplay loop is similar to other extraction shooters on the market. Explore dynamic environments, scavenge resources and loot, avoid or slay other players and enemy AI, and escape in time. However, there are plenty of nuances to keep things fresh.
This extraction shooter emphasizes crafting items and objects that can provide tactical aid in combat and help you reach far-off places with ease. At launch, Arc Raiders features four maps, each boasting a ton of verticality that amplifies the sense of scale of its post-apocalyptic environments.
Enemy AI includes mechanical drones and spider bots that come in various shapes and sizes. Arc Raiders also feature gigantic mech encounters that may require support from other teams in the area.
Back at the base, you can build crafting stations at the workshop and improve your loadout. There’s also an elaborate skill tree that lets you improve your character’s mobility, survival, and conditional skills. You can gain skill points by completing various quests, which are basically daily or weekly challenges that you find in most multiplayer titles.

Arc Raiders' PC requirements are relatively less demanding than recent UE 5 releases like Cronos: The New Dawn and Metal Gear Solid 3: Delta Snake Eater. We tested the game’s closed beta test on an RTX 4080 and didn’t experience any performance hiccups. However, it’s worth noting that it’s a significantly more powerful GPU than the recommended RTX 2070 or RX 5700 XT for this title.
Why should you play Arc Raiders?

Arc Raiders feels like a premium extraction shooter, a breath of fresh air among its many FPS counterparts. Its robust gunplay and weighty movements make combat and traversal quite satisfying. Most importantly, its environments and the sheer scale of its intricately designed maps make for an immersive playground that piques curiosity and rewards caution, and that’s always a good thing in any extraction shooter.
If you were disappointed by the cancellation of Ubisoft’s PvPvE extraction shooter, The Division Heartland, Arc Raiders could be a solid alternative, to say the least.
