Where to find the Flare Gun in Fortnite

Epic Games has unvaulted Fortnite's version of the Flare Gun for the game's seventh birthday celebration. Each yearly anniversary event typically features a fun loot pool, including Cake Slices, Presents, Balloons, and even a Birthday Medallion this time around. However, the Flare Gun helps spot enemies and complete one of the various birthday-themed quests. This guide will explain where to find the Flare Gun and how to complete the quest.

Finding the Flare Gun in Fortnite essentially comes down to luck. The weapon spawns primarily in regular Chests, but you can also snatch it from an enemy if you eliminate them. For reference, we looted quite a few Chests before finding the Flare Gun pictured above. However, since it's luck-based, you may find one earlier than we did.

Once you find the weapon, it will occupy one inventory slot. You can use the Flare Gun to attack enemies. It will also mark enemies in the surrounding area, which brings us to how you can complete the birthday quest mentioned earlier.

This quest is straightforward and should not give you too much trouble. The goal is to mark seven opponents by shooting the Fortnite Flare Gun into the air. You can complete this quest in game modes such as Battle Royale and Zero Build, but we found Team Rumble to be the easiest.

If you hope to knock this out quickly, you should queue into Team Rumble and loot a point of interest (POI) until you locate a Flare Gun. After finding one, head to the Storm Circle and blast the Flare Gun. You will notice the ticker on the upper-left corner of your screen tracking your quest, and you will eventually earn all seven marks needed.
