Here is everything you need to know about the Cold Snap Pickaxe in Fortnite, including how to get it and more.

Cold Snap: How to get the Pickaxe in Fortnite

Acquiring the Pickaxe in Fortnite can only happen, as the Pickaxe does not find itself within the Item Shop often (the cosmetic is currently in the Item Shop as of April 22, 2024). So how much does the Cold Snap Pickaxe cost?

  • 800 V-Bucks

While this may be a few hundred more V-Bucks than other Pickaxes, it is a great investment if you love collecting cosmetics in Fortnite. Why, though?

Why is the Pickaxe considered rare in Fortnite?

When looking at different cosmetics such as the Cold Snap Pickaxe in Fortnite, there are a lot of aspects that go into making them rare. How many times have they been in the Item Shop? When were they first released? Were they a part of a special exclusive set that you could only get if you bought an Xbox or PlayStation (yes, that is a thing)?

So why is the Cold Snap Pickaxe considered rare in Fortnite? And why do people love the Pickaxe so much?

Well, for starters - it has quite the winter look, which for some reason, is a favorite amongst Fortnite gamers. The Candy Axe, a Pickaxe modeled after a candy cane, is a huge favorite within the Fortnite community. It just seems like Fortnite players love Christmas and the winter, I guess.

Also, though, the Cold Snap Pickaxe is very old. The cosmetic actually first released back in 2018 during Chapter 1, Season 7, making it an OG Pickaxe. In fact, they weren't even called Pickaxes back then, but instead, they were called Harvesting Tools. That is how old it is.

So do you want the popular Pickaxe now? Well, you better run to the Item Shop! It will not be in there forever.
