Fortnite is back on iOS and Epic Games is offering a free skin for those who download the game and complete Quests.
After over four years, Fortnite has finally begun its triumphant return to iOS. Although Epic Games' legal dispute with Apple over antitrust behavior and unfair App Store practices continues, Fortnite has only returned to iOS in Europe. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Epic Games is offering a free skin to those who meet the specific criteria required while also completing Quests. Here’s how to get the Katalina skin in Fortnite.
Step 1A: Install Fortnite on iOS (Europe only)
According to Epic’s blog post, Fortnite on iOS is only available in Europe for the time being. That means the Katalina skin is available exclusively to European iOS product owners.
For those residents, you can follow the steps below to install the Fortnite app on iOS before learning how to get the Katalina skin:
- To get Fortnite on your iOS device, you must first install the Epic Games Store app. The eligibility requirements are below:
- You must pass Apple’s region check for European Union customers. (This is a check from Apple to verify you live where you live.)
- Your device must be on iOS 17.6 or higher.
- You must be using the Safari browser
- If you meet those requirement, head to this website and press the “Get it on iPhone” button
- Press “Continue
- You’ll see a pop-up saying your device isn’t set up to allow marketplaces by “Epic Games.” What to do? Don’t close your browser — simply head over to Settings and do the following
- Near the top of the Settings, tap the banner that says “Allow Marketplace From Epic Games.”
- Choose “Allow.”
- Open your browser again, press “Install” again, “Install App Marketplace,” and “Continue”
- Now navigate to the Epic Games Store App and install Fortnite

How to get the Katalina skin in Fortnite
Now that you have Fortnite on your mobile device, you can start completing the required Quests to obtain Katalina and the other cosmetics. These are all XP-driven Quests, so all you have to do is play Fortnite on iOS and/or Android while earning XP.
Here is a list of the Quests and what cosmetics you’ll receive:
- Earn 25,000 XP to unlock the Tactical Kat Wrap.
- Earn 50,000 XP to unlock the Kat Claws Pickaxe.
- Earn 75,000 XP to unlock the Katalina's Kit Bag Back Bling.
- Earn 100,000 XP to unlock the Katalina Outfit.
If you miss out on this opportunity or do not qualify, Katalina will be available in the Item Shop later.
