How to get Fortnite V-bucks for free

Is there such a thing as free Fortnite V-bucks? Well yes, there are some ways you can spare your wallet and this guide can help!

The popular Fortnite Battle Royale is free-to-play but like most other video games, Fortnite has microtransactions that allow users to purchase cosmetics and in-game features. But to make purchases in Fortnite, users must use V-bucks.
A lot of players often seek ways to find free V-bucks in order to save money and still be able to enjoy Fortnite benefits. In this guide, we'll walk you through ways that we have found legitimate to get Fortnite V-bucks for free.

What are V-bucks?

V-bucks is an in-game currency for Fortnite that you can use to buy in-game items and cosmetics such as skins, emotes, pickaxes, and more. With V-bucks, you can also purchase Fortnite’s Battle Pass - a tiered system where you complete missions and challenges to progress and gain attractive rewards.

How to purchase V-bucks

V-bucks, like many other in-game currencies, are bought in bundles. If you wish to cap your spending in the long run, buying larger bulks will help save you some money. To purchase V-bucks, simply go to the V-bucks tab in Fortnite and select the bulk you want and it’ll bring you to your payment platform.
How much does V-bucks cost? The cheapest bulk is $7.99 for 1000 V-bucks. Meanwhile, the largest bulk is $79.99 for 13,500 V-bucks.
Here is the full list of offered bulks:
  • 1000 - $7.99
  • 2800 - $19.99
  • 5000 - $31.99
  • 13500 - $79.99
Another way to get V-bucks is via gift cards. You can purchase gift cards from stores or major retailers and redeem them in Fortnite to get the exact amount of V-bucks purchased. However, only certain countries provide V-bucks gift cards for now. These countries include the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Australia. Epic has stated that it is working with retailers to bring the V-bucks gift cards to more countries.
You can find the step-by-step guide to redeeming Fortnite gift cards here.

Ways to earn free Fortnite V-bucks

First and foremost, always be careful not to fall for scams, and always avoid sketchy sites and posts that offer "free V-bucks". Before getting anything that is labeled as "free", make sure to do your research and verify its legitimacy.
Here we are going to list down some ways and loopholes that you can use to get free V-bucks.

1. Play Fortnite Save the World

A legitimate way to earn free V-bucks is through Fortnite Save the World game mode. Though the game itself needs to be purchased, players can earn a maximum of 1000 V-bucks by completing missions in Save the World.
The Fortnite STW game mode also offers plenty more V-bucks that you can unlock by logging into the game daily and completing challenges. But this benefit is only available for STW “founders”.
Founders are categorized as players who bought the Founder Pack in Save the World before July 1st, 2020, and had early access to the game.

2. Complete missions on the Free Pass and the Battle Pass

The Fortnite Battle Royale offers seasonal Battle Passes that allow you to unlock rewards by grinding games and completing missions. And one of the rewards is free V-bucks!
You can opt to complete only the Free Pass, which you can progress through without making purchases. But you can earn more V-bucks by purchasing the Battle Pass. If you manage to grind up to the max, you can earn enough V-bucks for the next season’s Battle Pass!

3. Subscribe to Fortnite Crew

Fortnite Crew provides a mouth-watering deal that can save you a ton of money. The monthly subscription system offers you a plethora of rewards for $12 a month. The biggest benefit from Fortnite Crew is you can get 1000 V-bucks every month as well as access to the Battle Pass. On top of that, you can also earn exclusive cosmetics only for the crew. This deal alone would massively spare your pockets!

4. Use Fortnite Redeem Codes

Epic is always releasing Redeem Codes for Fortnite Battle Royale. These redeem codes are free and players can get random rewards such as outfits, skins, emotes, and V-bucks cards. Most Redeem Codes are limited, so make sure you keep an eye out for Redeem Codes updates.
To use the Redeem Code, go here and enter the code. Once used, you'll see the rewards in your account the next time you log in.

5. Use Refund Request

Every account is supplied with three Refund Requests that allow you to refund recent purchases in-game. If you for instance accidentally bought the wrong cosmetic or you are not happy with what you just bought, you can easily get your V-bucks back.
After one year of each Refund Token use, you'll gain one token back. This allows you to get refund opportunities without a window to abuse the system.
This method technically does not give you free V-bucks but it's a good way to recycle and not have you spend more money.

6. Join tournaments and giveaways

As it usually is in communities, you can find a bunch of tournaments and giveaways that reward V-bucks. Although this method depends heavily on your skill level as well as luck, it's worth it to try. Try and search for organizations or communities that often host tournaments or giveaways so you can keep an eye out for potential V-bucks rewards.
That's all for our guide on how to get V-bucks for free. If you want more Fortnite content, stick around!
