Fortnite’s new Star Wars season has introduced Star Wars Twitch Drops, which you can acquire when the season launches on May 2!
To celebrate the May 2 launch of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3: Galactic Battle, Epic Games has enabled Star Wars-themed Twitch Drops. Players who tune in to watch participating Twitch streams between May 2 and May 5 can acquire two free in-game cosmetic items by following the necessary steps.
This article explains the two rewards you can earn by watching Fortnite streams on Twitch and how exactly to unlock them.
Fortnite x Star Wars Twitch Drops explained
This Twitch Drops promotion starts on May 2 at 9 a.m. ET, which presumably means Chapter 6 Season 3 should be live by then. Anyone looking to claim the two items available must ensure they have linked to their Epic Games account to their Twitch account.
We will cover that process shortly, but the starting point is to connect these two accounts. Once you have done that, your next step is to watch any Fortnite Twitch stream with something to the effect of "Drops Enabled" in the title.
If you have completed those two steps, you must keep the stream up for 15 minutes to earn a Loading Screen and 45 minutes to earn a Back Bling. Epic's blog post indicates the two items may be available in the Item Shop eventually, but this is an easy way to get them without paying.
Here are the rewards you can earn by watching the appropriate Twitch streams:
- Galactic Duel Loading Screen - Watch for 15 minutes
- Anakin's Model Jedi Interceptor Back Bling - Watch for 45 minutes

Are these Star Wars rewards worth your while?
Our general rule of thumb is that anything Fortnite-related that you can acquire for free is worthwhile. While it's not technically free by definition, since you have to invest your time, Twitch Drops are something you can earn by throwing a stream on in the background without even watching.
Although that's not the purpose, your efforts can get you a free Loading Screen and Back Bling without spending V-Bucks. There's not much better for a Fortnite player than getting free items.
However, if you're not a Star Wars fan or unwilling to follow the steps outlined above, it's not the end of the world. Epic Games has activated these Drops from May 2 through May 5, so getting them earlier rather than later is a wise approach.
