Fortnite servers will go down for maintenance and an update on February 21 at 2 am ET. The servers are usually down for maintenance for a period of 1 hour. They should be back up by 3 am ET, although Epic Games is yet to confirm the duration of the maintenance.

However, there might be instances when the game goes down for server maintenance before that due to unforeseen errors.
