Fortnite just introduced a new type of emote called Dance Emotes. What are they, though?
With the release of Sabrina Carpenter's Icon Skin in Fortnite, the popular game has introduced a new type of emote called "Dance Emotes." This new type of emote comes along with Carpenter's new emotes, but has sparked quite a bit of debate amongst players.
So, what are Dance Emotes in Fortnite? And why are some people upset about them?
What are Dance Emotes in Fortnite?
Dance Emotes are Fortnite's newest style of emotes in the game. Similar to Synced Emotes, these emotes let players dance together. However, Dance Emotes do not require both players to have the same emote.
This means that if you see another player rocking out with Sabrina Carpenter's emotes, you can join alongside them even if you have not purchased the dance. This offers a new form of community within Fortnite, allowing everyone to feel included. At the moment, we do not know which emotes will become Dance Emotes, but we do know that the majority of them will be changed to this.
Since Dance Emotes technically syncs up two players, Synced Emotes are now being renamed to Group Emotes. These emotes will still require the other player to have them.
So, why are some upset about the new Dance Emotes in Fortnite?

Players angry at new Dance Emotes
The new Dance Emotes in Fortnite have caused a bit of uproar amongst some players in the game. In the past, being able to flex an emote on a player was always looked at as a luxury. Sometimes, emotes would hit the Item Shop only to never be purchasable again. The new Dance Emotes now let anyone dance along to any emote out there, even if they do not own it.

To some players, this defeats the purpose ot spending money on an emote when someone else can just copy you anytime you use it. Players are arguing that it takes away the uniqueness of different emotes in Fortnite.
Do you agree? Or do you think Dance Emotes are a good addition to Fortnite?
