The fan-favorite Fortnite 50v50 limited-time mode (LTM), which debuted in 2017, is back after a seven-year absence. Following the launch of Fortnite OG Season 3, the LTM has presumably returned for the entirety of the season. This article outlines everything you need to know, including how to play and what the LTM entails.

How to play the Fortnite 50v50 LTM

With the launch of OG Season 3, Fortnite 50v50 is accessible via the "Discovery" navigation panel. You can locate the LTM by searching for the "By Epic" category. Once there, you can scroll through the various other modes to find 50v50. After choosing the mode, click "Select" before queueing into a match.

You will queue into a lobby on one of two 50-player teams. Finally, your character will appear in one of two Battle Buses approaching each other before the game officially begins.

How does this limited-time mode work?

Nothing is more "OG" than the 50v50 game mode. Epic Games introduced it in 2017 before Fortnite battle royale went nuclear. The mode pits 50 players against each other to earn more eliminations than the opposing team.

Unlike its spiritual successor, Team Rumble, Fortnite 50v50 does not allow players to respawn, meaning all you have is one life to make an impact. Once the match begins, your team has 10 minutes to loot before the Storm Circle closes completely. Then, you can pick up additional items through Supply Drops, which appear periodically.

Long-time 50v50 fans have long awaited the game mode's return, and the day has finally arrived. You can jump in now and enjoy the classic 50v50 chaos before it presumably leaves down the line. Fortnite OG Season 3 is also live, bringing some classic weapons, skins, and more into the mix until June 8.
