Avoid players in Dota 2 and earn mental health points. It’s 100% guaranteed, but it comes with a price (literally).
Picture this: you come home after a long shift, you know chef Mike is going to ruin your dinner again, so you sit down with your instant ramen, turn on your PC, and decide to play a game. It doesn't matter how long your list of unplayed games is. You're already loading Dota 2. You play one game, you win, but the experience was off: that AM player didn't even help you, and after a 40-minute turbo game, the soup is already cold.
Reporting is not going to be enough. You want them out of your games forever, but how can you avoid this type of player in Dota 2? Unfortunately, the only way to do it is by paying. This feature is only available for those players who pay for a Dota Plus subscription. The price to pay is not high, but if you don't renew it, your list won't work until you subscribe again.
Subscription Price Discount | 1 month $3.99 USD 0% | 6 months $22.99 USD 6% | 12 months $41.99 USD 12% |

How to add a player to your avoid list in Dota 2
Are you already paying four bucks a month, but can't find the avoid option? It's hidden at first, but the process is the same as reporting:
- Click the red flag on the post-game screen located above the player's name.
- This will lead you to the reporting screen. Then, in the upper-left corner, a golden "Avoid player" button will appear.
- Clicking on it won't count as a report, so you have to do it separately.
- You can only avoid Dota 2 players you've teamed up with, not the enemies.
After adding a player to your avoid list, you can manage it through the Dota Plus subscription menu. You can also add a note to your submission so you don't forget why that AM player is there to begin with. Valve has put a lot of thought into this simple feature, allowing a lot of characters to write a Death Note-like sentence.
You can also use more slots if 25 of them are not enough. Trust me, they aren't. Every time you buy one slot, the price increases by 5,000 shards that you can farm by completing the weekly missions. But how many "avoid player" slots can you buy with Dota Plus? Apparently, infinite.
There's not much more to say about this simple pro-mental-health trick. However, if you don't want to be in somebody else's avoid list, here are some other useful guides for you.
Now, back to microwaving that ramen for the third time now.
