A few new, unique perks are available on this trace rifle.
Trace rifles are back in the Destiny 2 meta, and Unsworn's arrival via Sundered Doctrine couldn't have been better timed. The PvE god roll for Unsworn takes many forms, with the weapon highly versatile based on the needs of the user.
Here's a breakdown of the best perks and the god roll for Unsworn in Destiny 2.
What is the Unsworn god roll in Destiny 2?

Unsworn PvE god roll
Column | Perk(s) |
---|---|
Barrel | Corkscrew Rifling |
Magazine | Enhanced Battery |
Trait 1 | Rewind Rounds Shoot to Loot |
Trait 2 | Killing Tally Detonator Beam Target Lock |
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Weapon Mod | Subjugation (Origin Trait) Reload Speed (Masterwork) Backup Mag/Heavy Ammo Finder Enhancement (Weapon Mod) |
It's in PvE where Unsworn truly shines. If you like trace rifles in Destiny 2, this is a must-get, and there are several avenues you can take here.
For the all-Strand build, you've got Tear and Hatchling. For the straight-up damage machine, Rewind Rounds and Killing Tally are available (just make sure you've got Special Ammo Finders equipped or you'll run out of ammo).
Personally, I'm going for the new perk Detonator Beam, which works similarly to Kinetic Tremors — a large explosion when dealing sustained damage to a target. I'm pairing it with Shoot to Loot as the explosions reload your weapons if they hit any ammo brick nearby.
There are several ways you can take this weapon, it's that versatile!

Column | Perk(s) |
---|---|
Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
Magazine | Projection Fuse |
Trait 1 | Thresh |
Trait 2 | Target Lock |
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Weapon Mod | Subjugation (Origin Trait) Stability (Masterwork) Ballistics (Weapon Mod) |
Trace rifles are a rarity in PvP due to their status as Special weapons. You'll need to chain together several kills and pick up ammo bricks to keep Unsworn going, and the perk pool doesn't really suit for PvP.
If I'd have to choose, Thresh is the best perk in column one for a little more Super energy. Target Lock increases the damage of the beam the longer it is held on a single target, so if you're stable and accurate, you'll put out plenty of damage against other guardians.
How to get Unsworn in Destiny 2

The Unsworn trace rifle drops from the Sundered Doctrine dungeon in Destiny 2. It doesn't matter which encounter you run, as Unsworn can drop from any of the three rooms in the dungeon.
You can't craft this weapon, so you'll need to get lucky and have one dropped after a run. Once you've got the one you want, you can enhance it for upgraded perks.
