A Strand glaive with a focus on projectile use.

Episode: Heresy is the season of the glaive, and it'd be amiss if Bungie didn't roll out a new glaive for the Destiny 2 season. Refusal of the Call is that glaive, and this Strand special weapon has a few options for those chasing a god roll.

Here's our god roll and best perks for Refusal of the Call in Destiny 2.

You would think Sword Logic is the perfect perk for Refusal of the Call, but unfortunately, there's a major drawback. Melee kills do not benefit from nor increase the duration of Sword Logic's damage buff. It's an annoyance, but Sword Logic is still a decent damage perk here.

Alternatively, I'm liking Beacon Rounds for extra tracking on projectiles after a kill. It especially pairs well with Envious Assassin in column one, assuming you're using another primary weapon to boost this glaive's magazine size.

Discord is also an option and works similarly. Once activated via another weapon, kills while active will refund ammo to Refusal of the Call. If you're planning on using this glaive primarily as a ranged weapon, it's worth a look!

Trait 2Close to Melee

Quick Access Sling (Weapon Mod)

Impulse Amplifier is a must-have perk for Refusal of the Call in PvP. Like PvE, we're focusing on the weapon's ranged attacks, and Impulse Amplifier's boost to projectile velocity is too good to pass up.

Beacon Rounds can work in column two, but given we have so little ammo in PvP, I'm more inclined to get up close and personal after firing a shot. Even though we're boosting range where we can, I'm picking Close to Melee as the second column perk. Kills with the projectile will boost melee damage, which is extended on melee kill.

Fire a bolt or two for a kill, then rush into enemies with the shield up and melee them with Close to Melee's damage buff. Then, switch to your primary until you get more special ammo.

Refusal of the Call arrived in March 2025 with Episode: Heresy's Act 2. Running Heresy activities — specifically The Nether — will be the best way to get your hands on this glaive.

Use your Tome of Want to focus The Nether drops. Apply episodic weapons and the glaive scripture to boost your chances of getting Refusal of the Call. Adept versions with dual perks drop from higher difficulties.
