Red Tape joins an illustrious set of lightweight scout rifles.
Lightweight frame scout rifles in Destiny 2 are few and far between these days. However, the archetype has offered up some of Destiny's most liked weapons, and Red Tape (and it's god roll) might just scrape onto that list!

We finally have another lightweight 200 RPM scout rifle, and Red Tape has it all as far as perks go. For PvE I'm leaning toward the Stasis combo of Rimestealer and Headstone. Headshot kills spawn a Stasis crystal that, when destroyed using Red Tape, grants you Frost Armor stacks.
Enemies slowed nearby the spawned crystal are slowed, meaning kills on those targets also grant Frost Armor. It's a potent combination and really powerful with Stasis aspects and fragments.
If you aren't liking the Stasis roll, go for the grenade combination of Demolitionist and Adrenaline Junkie. Wanting to use it as a DPS pick for majors and champions? Fourth Time's The Charm and Focused Fury are also great options.

Lightweight scouts are awesome for PvP and there are plenty of great perks to choose from for Red Tape. I'm going with High-Impact Reserves for that damage boost at the end of the magazine. It'll be paired with Keep Away with grants you extra reload speed, range, and accuracy as long as you're at distance from enemies.
Throw on a quickdraw shotgun for anyone else that closes the gap, and you've got a powerful Crucible or Trials loadout led from distance thanks to Red Tape.
How to get Red Tape in Destiny 2
Red Tape is an Episode: Revenant weapon and can be acquired from any Episode: Revenant activity. It's important to use the Red Tape tonic to focus for extra copies of the weapon.
If you want enhanced perks, be sure to upgrade the roll you like by levelling the weapon up. You can't craft this weapon in the Enclave.
