A 900 RPM with solid melee perks? Interesting!
Episode: Heresy's weapon collection is vast with many of Destiny 2's archetypes covered in some way. Mirror Imago is the SMG available in the season and has a few decent PvE and PvP god rolls.
Here's a look at our god roll for Mirror Imago in Destiny 2.
What is the Mirror Imago god roll in Destiny 2?

Mirror Imago PvE god roll
Column | Perk(s) |
---|---|
Barrel | Corkscrew Rifling |
Magazine | Appended Mag Flared Magwell |
Trait 1 | Recycled Energy Grave Robber |
Trait 2 | Permeability Swashbuckler |
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Weapon Mod | Willing Vessel (Origin Trait) Reload Speed (Masterwork) Backup Mag (Weapon Mod) |
Mirror Imago falls into a rather unwanted archetype for SMGs in PvE. 900 RPM is great at getting rounds out quickly but the lack of per bullet damage and range stings.
Fortunately, there's a solution in the form of melee-based traits Grave Robber and Swashbuckler. Get up close with a melee ability, then with five damage stacks, rain down pain with Mirror Imago. With a fast recharging melee build, you'll then melee again to reload the SMG and keep the damage going.
If melee abilities aren't your thing, Permeability makes a return. This changes the element of the SMG to match your subclass when you use your class ability, and is handy when aligning to requirements for endgame activities like Grandmaster Nightfalls.
Throw on Recycled Energy to recharge your abilities when you reload — this can work with that melee build, too!

Column | Perk(s) |
---|---|
Barrel | Smallbore |
Magazine | Accurized Rounds |
Trait 1 | Moving Target To The Pain |
Trait 2 | Swashbuckler Unrelenting |
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Weapon Mod | Willing Vessel (Origin Trait) Range (Masterwork) Ballistics (Weapon Mod) |
For a 900 RPM SMG, Mirror Imago has a solid range stat we can build upon. As much as 70 range is possible with the right barrel and magazine perks, so we're building around that by enhancing the weapon's stability.
To The Pain grants aim assist while you take damage in a gunfight. The handling is beneficial, but the boost to stability and targeting is huge for a 900 RPM. Alternatively, I'm liking the look of Moving Target — the extra movement speed and acquisition while aiming down sights will be vital in a head-to-head.
Column two is less exciting. Unrelenting grants health regeneration but you'll need to chain two kills together to get it. Target Lock is a decent pick, but at longer ranges you likely won't be getting more than a stack. Therefore, my pick is Swashbuckler for that damage bonus on melee kill instead, with a focus on playing up close.
How to get Mirror Imago in Destiny 2

Mirror Imago is an Episode: Heresy weapon that drops primarily from The Nether. Using your Tome of Want, you can focus your weapon drops for a Nether run onto Episodic SMGs for the maximum chance at receiving Mirror Imago.
It is a later act weapon, so you won't be able to get Mirror Imago until halfway through the season. Some players have reported the weapon dropping with the right Tome of Want setup, but Bungie appears to have fixed this unintended bug.
You cannot craft this weapon. Once you have the roll you want, you can enhance your Mirror Imago for upgraded versions of the perks.
