Long Arm is designed for hip fire, but a few new Rite of the Nine perks make it a precise and tactical killer in Destiny 2.
Rite of the Nine is here, and with it comes a reprised set of Destiny 2 dungeons and weapons with new traits to hunt for. Arguably the most popular of the weapons up for grabs is the Long Arm scout rifle — and it's got a new god roll to hunt for.
Here's our god roll and best perks for Long Arm in Destiny 2's Rite of the Nine.
What is the god roll for Long Arm in Destiny 2?

Long Arm PvE god roll
Column | Perk(s) |
---|---|
Barrel | Corkscrew Rifling |
Magazine | Appended Mag |
Trait 1 | Rapid Hit Recycled Energy |
Trait 2 | Dragonfly Rolling Storm |
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Weapon Mod | Gravity Well (Origin Trait) Stability (Masterwork) Backup Mag (Weapon Mod) |
Hype for Long Arm has died off a bit from the gameplay reveal some time ago where we saw Jolting Feedback as a second-column perk. Jolting Feedback is absent from the weapon, so we're looking to alternatives to fulfil that Arc power fantasy.
Rolling Storm is a great substitute in Bolt Charge builds as you'll be able to build up plenty of stacks. Titans especially have ways to proc Bolt Charge with the Storm's Keep Arc Aspect, so pop that barricade and summon lightning almost at will!
Gravity Well is the Rite of the Nine Origin Trait, which automatically picks up nearby ammo bricks when reloading — great for refilling those Special and Heavy reserves!
Otherwise, Dragonfly does roughly the same thing in exploding enemies on headshot kill. We're partnering those up with Rapid Hit for faster reload, but if you can live with the reload speed of Long Arm, go for Recycled Energy instead to get those abilities back.

Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
Magazine | Accurized Rounds |
Trait 1 | Lone Wolf Rapid Hit |
Trait 2 | Precision Instrument Explosive Payload |
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Weapon Mod | Tex Balanced Stock (Origin Trait) Range (Masterwork) Targeting Adjuster (Weapon Mod) |
Fighting at range with Long Arm in the Crucible is a breeze with the Lone Wolf perk. Aim assist, ADS, and airborne effectiveness are all boosted by default, but these stats are improved further if you're away from nearby allies.
I'd lean toward Explosive Payload but a bug has been identified with the perk and in combination with scout rifles. Hence, I'm picking Precision Instrument in the meantime — but as soon as Explosive Payload is fixed, I'll be rocking that in PvP!
How to get Long Arm in Destiny 2 Rite of the Nine

There are several ways to get your hands on Long Arm in Destiny 2's Rite of the Nine activity. Completing the first quest, Elegant Arsenal, rewards a Long Arm. Running the Rite of the Nine Spire of the Watcher can drop the weapon, while attuning to Long Arm at The Emissary means you'll have an increased chance of getting Long Arm after completing encounters or dungeons.
Adept versions with alternate colorways and double perks drop rarely from encounters or from The Emissary. Holofoil versions of Long Arm are also obtainable from completing quests or from higher difficulty clears of Rite of the Nine.
