Another Splicer weapon makes a long-awaited return, with the Gridskipper now available in Destiny 2.
Yet another fan favorite from the Splicer collection is back with Gridskipper making a return to Destiny 2 during Episode: Revenant. This Rapid-Fire Frame pulse rifle has been enhanced in Season 25 with a new perk pool and the Splicer Surge Origin Trait, granting stat bonuses after reloading.
Here's our Gridskipper god roll guide and perk list in Destiny 2.
What is the god roll for Gridskipper in Destiny 2?
Gridskipper PvE god roll
Column | Perk(s) |
---|---|
Barrel | Arrowhead Brake |
Magazine | Appended Mag |
Trait One | Repulsor Brace Demolitionist |
Trait Two | Destabilizing Rounds Frenzy |
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Mod | Splicer Surge (Origin Trait) Reload Speed (Masterwork) Backup Mag (Weapon Mod) |
We've got a few combinations that will serve you well in PvE. Back in action is the classic Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds roll, which is ideal for those leaning into Void or Prismatic for those sweet overshields and Volatile explosions.
If you aren't about the Void or Prismatic life and want a consistent option, go for Demolitionist and Frenzy. If you aren't a fan of Frenzy, there are some other great picks, too. Multikill Clip, Desperate Measures, and Elemental Capacitor — great on Solar subclasses — are all valid options.

Column | Perk(s) |
---|---|
Barrel | Smallbore |
Magazine | Ricochet Rounds |
Trait One | Killing Wind Zen Moment |
Trait Two | Headseeker |
Origin Trait, Masterwork, Mod | Splicer Surge (Origin Trait) Range (Masterwork) Ballistics (Weapon Mod) |
Perks like Zen Moment and Headseeker make Gridskipper a PvP beast. Reloading after damage will only improve the weapon thanks to the Splicer Surge Origin Trait.
We're also adding in Killing Wind for column one, which compliments Splicer Surge well in ensuring handling, mobility, and range — the weapon's biggest shortcoming — remain boosted while firing.
How to get Gridskipper in Destiny 2
Gridskipper can be acquired by completing the Episode: Revenant Act Two activity Tomb of Elders. You'll have a higher drop rate by completing the Contest of Elders version, but be in for a bit of a grind. This activity can take up to an hour to complete.
Alternatively, you can pop a tonic with a focus on Gridskipper or Vintage Tomb of Elders weapons. You cannot craft Gridskipper, but you can enhance it for those chasing upgraded versions of the weapon's perks.
