“High above Europa, dark mysteries dwell in the haunted passages of Vesper Station.”

Destiny 2 players, get your game faces on — the new Vesper's Host dungeon is upon us at last. Episode: Revenant brings with it more than just new gear and a rebuilt Last City, with the dungeon set to test anyone who dares enter it.

Bungie isn't messing around either, with Vesper's Host launch weekend also including a Contest Mode and a World's First prize. Here's everything you need to know about the Vesper's Host dungeon and when you'll be able to jump in yourself.

Vesper's Host will become available to all players at 10 a.m. PT on Oct. 11. Below we've included an approximate start time across other regions:

  • Oct. 11, 10 a.m. PT
  • Oct. 11, 1 p.m. EDT
  • Oct. 11, 6 p.m. BST
  • Oct. 11, 7 p.m. CEST
  • Oct. 11, 10:30 p.m. IST
  • Oct. 12, 1 a.m. CST
  • Oct. 12, 4 a.m. AEST

Any players who wish to run Vesper's Host will need to have purchased The Final Shape or a Final Shape Dungeon Key. Head to the Last City and speak to Spider who will have a quest for you — this begins your dive into Vesper's Host.

The dungeon takes place in Vesper Station, a location above Europa (much like Seraph Station and the beginning of the Deep Stone Crypt dungeon). A distress signal was issued from this "derelict Braytech station," with the dungeon's trailer showing images of Exos, corrupted Eliksni, and many traps to navigate.

Little more is known about the dungeon at this time, but we won't need to wait for long until we uncover the mysteries of Vesper Station ourselves!

World's First Vesper's Host race and Contest Mode

For the first time, Destiny 2 players will partake in a World's First race for the new dungeon. World's First races are normally reserved for new raids, leading many to believe this could be the toughest dungeon to be released.

Since we've got a World's First race on our hands, Vesper's Host comes with a Contest Mode active until Sunday, Oct. 10 a.m. PT. During this time, player power level will be capped meaning enemies will be incredibly tanky and dish out extra damage.

Once the first three teams have cleared the dungeon, normal mode will become available, but those chasing the Contest Mode rewards will have a little longer to complete the dungeon before the harder mode wraps up.

For those unable to participate (or unwilling!), there are still rewards to be had by watching the race live on Twitch. Visit the Twitch Rivals page for the World's First event for a list of participating streamers. Tuning in during the race will land you some pretty sweet in-game rewards such as emblems and pinnacle engrams — connect your Twitch and Bungie accounts before watching!

All guardians that complete Vesper's Host on Contest Mode will be rewarded with the Ice Breaker Exotic sniper rifle. This is a reprised version of an old Destiny 1 Exotic with a few upgrades:

  • Exotic Intrinsic: No Backpack
    • Final blows or assists with other weapons or abilities have a chance to create ammo for Ice Breaker. Defeating powerful combatants will create multiple rounds.
  • Exotic Basic Trait: Ice Breaker
    • Defeating a target with this weapon causes it to explode. Precision final blows or shattering a frozen target instead triggers an ignition.
  • Exotic Catalyst: Icing-Breaker
    • Landing a hit on a slowed or frozen target has a chance to return the round to the magazine.

Ice Breaker will also drop normally from Normal Mode completions of Vesper's Host but at a far reduced chance. Vesper's Host also has its own collection of weapons and armor as well as several emblems available after completing the dungeon. World's First winners will receive a customary wrestling-style belt as well as a unique emblem.
