What is Rushdown in Destiny 2?

Destiny 2’s Rushdown is a new boss rush activity in which you face a series of bosses from the campaign, exotic missions, and seasonal story missions. Every run features five boss encounters, with each subsequent encounter becoming increasingly difficult. Completing encounters quickly increases the chance of dropping higher-quality loot.

Rushdown has three difficulty tiers. These are Warm-up, Standard, and Expert. The Warm-up version of Rushdown is the easiest to get into and is ideal for familiarizing yourself with the activity. On the other hand, the Standard and Expert difficulties feature tougher combatants and bosses with modifiers.

It’s worth pointing out that all three tiers feature the same bosses. However, Rushdown has a daily rotator, which means you get to encounter different Destiny 2 bosses every day in this activity.

Fortunately, each version of Rushdown features standard matchmaking, class-based matchmaking, and private fireteam, so you shouldn’t have trouble finding teammates to take down bosses and finish Rushdown runs.

How to earn more points in Destiny 2 Rushdown

You can earn points in Rushdown by completing encounters quickly. The extra remaining time will convert to bonus points. Naturally, defeating more bosses will grant you a higher score as well. Below are some more tips.

  • The Standard and Expert difficulties in Rushdown also feature revive tokens, which you should avoid using to improve your score.
  • Since all you do in Rushdown is take down bosses, we recommend using your best DPS builds to complete these encounters quickly.
  • You can breeze through most encounters in Standard difficulty by simply having an appropriate weapons loadout.
  • Exotics like the Thunderlord and Lord of Wolves seem to be favorites for dishing out tons of boss damage.
  • Delicate Tomb, the exotic Arc Fusion Rifle, is another incredibly popular DPS weapon in Episode Heresy, especially because of its ability to deal insane bolt damage.
  • You can also use more common Destiny 2 meta weapons such as Choir of One Auto Rifle or Apex Predator Rocket Launcher that deal a surprising amount of raw boss damage even without proper builds and synergies.

All Rushdown rewards in Destiny 2

Completing encounters in Rushdown can get you Guardian Games weapons. This year’s event has introduced a new arc Trace Rifle, Keraunios, which can drop from this activity.

Aside from this, you can obtain previous years’ Guardian Games weapons like Hullabaloo Grenade Launcher, The Title SMG, and Taraxippos Scout Rifle.

One of the aforementioned Guardian Games weapons is a guaranteed drop if you finish at least three encounters in a run on any difficulty.

There are five score thresholds in Rushdown: bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond. Reaching higher thresholds on Standard and Expert difficulty also increases your chance of obtaining Guardian Games weapons with additional perks.

You can even earn a fully Masterworked Guardian Games weapon on Expert Rushdown with a high score.
