A Sudden Death is back with new and reprised perks in Rite of the Nine.

The fan-favorite player-versus-player (PvP) shotgun, A Sudden Death, has returned in Destiny 2 Rite of the Nine with a refreshed selection of perks. However, unlike most Prophecy weapons like the Prosecutor, this Aggressive Frame weapon doesn’t come with build-altering perks that are more in sync with the current meta.

A Sudden Death is still a mighty weapon, though, especially with combinations like Slideshot and Opening Shot. Therefore, if you earn it or are simply curious to learn about the best perk combinations for this weapon, you’re in the right place.

Here’s our pick for the A Sudden Death god roll and the best perks in Destiny 2’s Rite of the Nine update.

What is the A Sudden Death god roll in Destiny 2?

A Sudden Death PvE god roll

For Void Hunters, Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds are great picks for the Sudden Death god roll in player-versus-environment (PvE) mode. Destabilizing Rounds can apply Volatile to enemies, whereas Repulsor Brace provides an overshield from killing these debuffed enemies.

For Titans or Warlocks who are not afraid to get close and personal, you could pair up Threat Detector with Paracausal Affinity. Threat Detector would boost reload speed, handling, and stability, whereas Paracausal Affinity would provide a weapon damage boost. You could also swap Threat Detector with Slideshot for similar effects if you prefer sliding over sprinting.

A Sudden Death PvP god roll

A Sudden Death’s god roll in PvP is a different beast altogether, granted you have the right perk combinations. As mentioned above, the Rite of the Nine version of this weapon could drop with Slideshot and Opening Shot, and like before, it’s worth chasing after. Both could increase this weapon’s efficiency and make it more potent for slaying Guardians in PvP

Alternatively, for melee-centric builds, One-Two Punch and Paracausal Affinity could be a better option as they can boost melee and weapon damage, respectively.

It’s worth adding that A Sudden Death has more PvP perk combinations than PvE, so even if you can’t procure the aforementioned god rolls, you’ll still have plenty of options to one-shot Guardians with this hard-hitting Void shotgun.
