Learn how you can use a controller in Delta Force right now.

2024's Delta Force is a free-to-play shooter promising high immersion and action-packed gameplay. With modes like extractions and large-scale warfare, the game has already captured attention. For players eager to dive into Delta Force, controller support is a key question. So can you play Delta Force with a Controller?

Does Delta Force Have Controller Support?

Currently, Delta Force does not offer full controller support. The game is optimized for mouse and keyboard, making that the primary way to enjoy the FPS title right now. Talking about the lack of controller support in a Q&A on Discord, here's what the developers had to say.

To be honest, controller support was not super high on our list of priorities - until we demoed the game during Summer Game Fest. The feedback we received was loud and clear: please add controller support!

So yes, this is indeed something we're aiming to implement as soon as possible. Please note, however, that controller support is unlikely to be ready in time for the July PC Alpha Test.

Given the game's focus on bringing back the classic Delta Force series in a modern iteration, it is understandable why the feature was initially overlooked. But with the outpouring of player feedback, the developers have put controller support at the top of their lists.

When will Delta Force get Controller Support?

Following the official release of the game on Steam, the Developers have committed to adding Controller support to Delta Force. In a community post comment, the developers shared a Q1 2025 target for adding the support. With the recent sunsetting of XDefiant, many players might be looking at Delta Force as their new game and will appreciate the addition of controller support.

We’re working on adding controller support and are aiming to introduce this feature to the game by Q1 2025.

Adding controller support isn't just about convenience. It's about accessibility too. For players with certain disabilities, controllers may often be a necessity. And with the growing overlap between console and PC gamers, many simply aren't comfortable on the mouse. So adding official controller compatibility ensures that Delta Force reaches the widest possible audience, allowing everyone to enjoy its intense firefights.

How to play Delta Force with Controller?

While official support is still a few months away, players have already devised setups to allow for controller use in the game. The easiest way to achieve this is using Steam Input. This feature allows any game to be played with a controller, regardless of official compatibility. Plus community members can share their profiles allowing for a simple setup.
