Here are the basics of the Wingman game mode in CS2.

Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) has a bunch of game modes for both casual and competitive players. For example, the game has the classic five-versus-five (5v5) Competitive mode, the fast-paced Wingman option, plus other ones such as Deathmatch, Casual, Competitive, Premier, and more. Our guide below focuses on the Wingman game mode in CS2.

What is Wingman in CS2?

In CS2, Wingman refers to a fast-paced two-versus-two (2v2) game mode. Played on scaled-down maps with shorter rounds, it can be an alternative to the traditional 5v5 matches. In Wingman, players also duke it out under a best-of-16 (Bo16) format with the goal of bomb defusal.

CS2 Wingman maps

Speaking of maps, each one has only one bombsite. At the time of publishing this article, the CS2 Wingman map pool includes Inferno, Nuke, Overpass, and Vertigo. There are also community-created Wingman maps, such as Palais and Whistle, available through the Workshop.

CS2 Wingman rewards

As for the rewards for the end of each round, they're not the same compared to the Competitive and Casual game modes. Instead, for a team elimination win, players earn $2,750. Next, a bomb defusal on the CT side results in $3,000. Losing streaks also increase the payout, with rewards ranging from $2,000 after the first round loss to $2,900 after five or more consecutive losses. There's an additional $600 if the bomb was planted by the T side.
