How to intercept the ball in CFB 25

Simply put, to intercept the ball in CFB 25 as a user, you'll need to hit the Y button (on Xbox) at the right moment, just as the ball lands near your player.

Your CPU defenders can also get interceptions on misthrown balls, however, this happens at a much lower rate based on the games I have played. But, there are a few things you need to make sure of as you try to get more user picks.

  1. If you like to play as a linebacker or safety in zone coverage, you should try using the Switch Stick to jump routes in coverage. Lucky for you, we have a complete guide on how to use the Switch Stick if you want to give it a try.
  2. If you are like me and prefer to play as a defensive end going for sacks, you can still switch to the coverage man on the play and attempt an interception. You do this by pressing B (on Xbox) and then holding down Y to attempt the interception.
  3. Make sure that you either have your hand off the left joystick or are moving in the direction you want to go when you swap players. Otherwise, it can lead to blown coverage or an easy completion to the receiver.

If you need help getting better at this, try to hop into some Play Now games against a CPU or even use Practice mode to try it out. Once you get comfortable with it, its pretty easy to exploit bad players and CPUs, and can have you taking over games in no time.
