Here’s how to best deal with Wear and Tear during a game in CFB 25.

One of the most impactful new features in College Football 25 is Wear and Tear, a new mechanic that simulates the impact a football game can have on different parts of a player's body. Wear and Tear can lead to player injuries, players getting subbed out for long stretches, and much more. So, here's how you can heal some of that damage during a game, which can be especially crucial for those impactful late-game drives.

Healing Wear and Tear in College Football 25

In short, the negative effects of Wear and Tear can only be healed during quarters and at halftime in College Football 25, whereas Fatigue can be mitigated during timeouts, while subbed out, and also during breaks in the game. These wear down based on the player's Toughness rating.

It's important to differentiate between Wear and Tear and Fatigue in the game, as both work differently. Fatigue is purely a conditioning factor and won't cause your players to get injured, but they will move slower as a result and will still require breaks if overused, even if Wear and Tear isn't a factor.

Wear and Tear, on the other hand, deals with negative impacts on specific parts of the body and can lead to injuries and significantly reduce players' stats. You can view these impacts on a variety of different screens both during and after a game, depending on the game mode. According to the developers, these are all the ways you can monitor it:

  • Player Reticle - Left side Wear and Tear bars, right side fatigue. Note that the bars depleting only represent the most hurt body part.
  • Depth Chart - Here, you can see a Wear and Tear panel on the bottom right of the player card as well as the total an attribute is decreasing in the spreadsheet.
  • Coach Vision - Hold LT+RS down to see the Wear and Tear status of your entire team.
  • Picture in Picture (PIP) in the play call menu.
  • We've added a ton of 'Wear and Tear' get-up animations. After a player is banged up, you'll see a variety of animations for a given body part, depending on the severity.
  • You can also manage your players' Wear and Tear in the Dynasty player card.

So, if you have a player who has significant damage early in a game, don't fear. Just give them some rest until the end of the quarter or until halftime and see how they're looking from there. Or, if you'd rather risk an injury, keep the player out there to make the big plays that you need!
