Don’t fret if you’re struggling with kicking in CFB 25 – we all are.
One of the most surprisingly difficult aspects of the College Football 25 gameplay is kicking. Whether it's nailing a 30-yard field goal, keeping the kickoff inbounds, or getting good yardage on a punt, special teams are no easy feat.
So, to help you impress your friends with some consistent PATs and field goals, here's our guide to kicking in CFB 25.
College Football 25 kicking guide
The basic idea of kicking in College Football 25 is simple, but the execution is something else entirely. While many agree kicking is difficult in the new game, here's a simple walkthrough that will hopefully help you start getting better results.
For starters, there are two parts of a kick in CFB 25. The first part is accuracy, the second is power. The tougher the situation, the more difficult it will be to get the accuracy right, which is why a kickoff is much easier to execute than a 50+ yard field goal.
Step 1: Get as close to the green area as possible for accuracy
In order to get your kick or punt off in the right direction, you'll need to stop the first meter in the green area, or right in the middle. This is even the case when you are aiming to the left or the right.

Step 2: Don't overdo it on the power meter
After getting the accuracy as close to the green zone as you can, you will continue holding A (on Xbox) to begin filling up the power meter. This will fill up at varying speeds depending on the situation, so you'll need to adjust your timing accordingly. From our testing, kickoffs are the slowest, field goals are in the middle, and punts are the quickest.
If you fill up your kicking power meter to the red, you will over-kick the ball, likely sending it where you don't want it to. So, for good measure, we suggest aiming for the bottom of the arrow point, as shown in the image above.
Otherwise, a lot of mastering kicking in College Football 25 comes down to practice and repetition, even when it comes to extra points.
