Our pick for the best WR archetype in College Football 25 Road to Glory is Deep Threat, and it isn't even a competition. The other two archetypes, Physical and Route Runner, don't offer enough in terms of skill ceilings or player badges and will make it tougher to get open, especially on deep routes. We think Deep Threat WR solves these issues and then some.
As we have discussed in other CFB 25 guides, speed is the single most important stat in College Football 25, so getting as much of it as possible is never a bad idea. This is the basis for looking at Deep Threat initially, but having the potential for a Platinum badge like Takeoff and/or Shifty also plays a major role. These will make it almost impossible to guard you off the line and would also potentially put you in line to return kicks and punts for your team if your coach opts to put you in.
As you go to upgrade your player, however, make sure you keep an eye on your Hands rating to ensure you aren't dropping those tough passes. We also suggest the initial starting badge that reduces the impact of weather for the same reason.
