When is the first major update in Black Ops 7?
We're not even a month out from the release date of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, but many players are excited for what the post-launch cycle is slated to bring. Treyarch and Activision have both stated that post-launch content in Black Ops 7 will be the best the franchise has ever seen, which naturally has piqued the interest of the community. All of that starts with Season 1, but when can we expect that major update in Black Ops 7?
Below, we'll go into everything we currently know about Season 1 and how the Warzone integration fits into the update.
Season 1 release date in Black Ops 7
At the time of writing, there's no concrete release date for Season 1. There's not even a firm release window for the update, as Treyarch likely doesn't want to make any commitments before Black Ops 7 actually launches on Nov. 14.

However, we do know Season 1 will arrive sometime before 2026. This has been the trend for all Call of Duty games post-Modern Warfare 2019, and it's highly unlikely this timeline won't be followed in Black Ops 7. With the game releasing in mid-November, we can presumably expect Season 1 to arrive roughly one month after the launch.
This puts Season 1's release date around the week of December 8. While it's not exactly a month out from Nov. 14, Activision usually doesn't release major updates too close to the Holiday season, as developers are given time off during that time. So, the launch of Season 1 will likely occur on December 10-11, as Call of Duty updates often arrive on either Wednesday or Thursday.
Of course, nothing has been confirmed, and this potential release date could easily be changed. Perhaps Activision doesn't waste too much time following the launch of Black Ops 7, and instead pushes out Season 1 only a couple of weeks after the game releases.
Is Warzone arriving in Season 1?
As it relates to Warzone, the integration of the battle royale with Black Ops 7 will happen with the launch of Season 1. This means that when the Season 1 update goes live, all of the content in Black Ops 7 will be merged with Warzone's current content.

As Activision previously mentioned, all of the current weapons, Operators, and cosmetics in Warzone right now will be carried forward into Black Ops 7. The major changes coming to Warzone will be all of the new content in Black Ops 7 and every update that the developers have planned. This includes the fresh mechanics, quality-of-life updates, and changes to Verdansk. We'll also see the release of the Haven's Hallow Resurgence map at the launch of Season 1.
Until the release of Season 1, Warzone players will still have access to the current version of the game. However, after Season 1, the landscape of Warzone will change.
