The Buffer Weight Stock is an excellent new attachment, but how do you use it?
The recent Hit List community event in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has introduced several new items into multiplayer. While the community hasn't quite completed the event, the first item that unlocked was the Buffer Weight Stock, a weapon attachment. As soon as the attachment unlocked, many players scrambled to their favorite loadout to try and equip the stock.
However, what most of them found was the stock isn't equippable on every weapon. In fact, there are only three weapons in the entirety of Black Ops 6 that support the Buffer Weight Stock. Unfortunately, the game doesn't tell you what those weapons are, forcing you to check all 30+ guns yourself. Or, you could simply read our guide below and see exactly what weapons you can equip the Buffer Weight Stock on.
Buffer Weight Stock weapons in Black Ops 6
As previously mentioned, the Buffer Weight Stock is only supported on three weapons, which are as follows:
- XM4 (assault rifle)
- XMG (light machine gun)
- DM-10 (marksman rifle)
When you go to customize any of these weapons' attachments in the Gunsmith, all you have to do is select the Stock slot. There, you'll find the Buffer Weight Stock unlocked at the bottom of the list of stocks. The Buffer Weight Stock will be unlocked for your weapons regardless of their level.
Select the stock to equip it onto your weapon and then enter a match in Black Ops 6 to start using it.

Buffer Weight Stock's stats in Black Ops 6
If you're curious whether the new stock is worth using or not, here are the stats it offers in multiplayer:
- -34-47% Recoil Gun Kick (positive)
- -67-150% Horizontal Recoil Control (positive)
- -30-43% Vertical Recoil Control (positive)
- -14-29% Aim Walking Movement Speed (negative)
- +3-21% Aim Down Sight Speed (negative)
As you can see, the Buffer Weight Stock excels at recoil control and lowers mobility. The ranges in percentages you see on the stats above are due to the stock having different stats on all three weapons it's available on. The DM-10 features the lowest stat increases/reductions while the XM4 benefits the most from the Buffer Weight Stock in terms of raw stats.
