The new AR can be unlocked as normal in Season 2.
The Cypher 901 is one of three weapons coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 with the launch of Season 2. Activision describes the Cypher 901 as a full-auto AR that has a slower fire rate with great handling and mobility. It has 42 weapon levels and a base magazine size of 30, so it seems like an average AR in multiplayer.
Of course, if the Cypher 901 ends up being a meta weapon or you just like the sound of the gun, you'll want to unlock it as soon as possible. Fortunately, the Cypher 901 is a free weapon and all you have to do to unlock it is play Black Ops 6 or spend some of those valuable COD Points.

Unlocking the Cypher 901 in Black Ops 6
As the Cypher 901 is arriving at the start of Season 2, it will be unlockable through the Battle Pass as a free tier reward. This means you're not required to purchase the premium Battle Pass to unlock the assault rifle or any other weapons on the pass for that matter.
The Cypher 901 is available on page eight of the Battle Pass as the HVT Reward. The HVT Reward is the large reward at the end of a page and can only be unlocked when you earn the smaller tiers on the page. Being on page eight of the pass, the Cypher 901 will likely take around 35-40 tiers to reach. There's also a blueprint for the AR on page 11 of the pass. You can progress through tiers by earning and using Battle Pass Tokens or use COD Points to buy tiers.
If you want to speed through the Battle Pass and unlock some of the new weapons, including the PPSh-41, sooner, you can purchase the BlackCell version of the Battle Pass. BlackCell costs $30 and rewards you with 25 free tier skips that you can use to give you a massive head start when Season 2 arrives.
Speaking of spending money, you can also unlock the Cypher 901 by purchasing a store bundle that includes a blueprint for it. We don't know what bundle the Cypher 901 is in or how much it's going to cost, but you can expect the price of it to be around 2,000 COD Points.
