Exotic Skills are the key to getting a higher Combat Rating in Endgame.
Endgame in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is a surprisingly in-depth game mode with plenty of content to take part in. From ranking up your Operators to 60 Combat Rating to earning Endgame camos to completing World Events, there's no shortage of things to do in Avalon. However, even if you've played Endgame for dozens of hours and maxed out your Combat Rating, you might notice that there's still something missing from your Operator. This missing part is Exotic Skills, which are unlocked through very specific methods in Endgame.
Below, we'll show you what Exotic Skills are, how to unlock them, and how you can use them to get your Combat Rating past 60 in Endgame.
How to unlock Exotic Skills in Endgame
If you go into the Operator's abilities section in the loadout menu of Endgame, you'll see a tab for "Exotic Skills" at the bottom of the screen. Players who have never collected an Exotic Skill will see an empty circle in the tab, but players who have collected one will be able to click on the tab to view their skills.
Chances are, if you don't know what Exotic Skills are, then you likely picked up an Exotic Skill without even noticing. In the craziness of an Endgame match, it can be easy to gloss over what you're actually equipping and earning, especially if you're camo grinding.
Fortunately, there are several ways to acquire Exotic Skills, and here are some of the most popular methods:
- Complete contracts in Tier IV
- Kill Elite enemies in Tier IV
- Looting Exotic Skill caches
- Complete World Boss Events
By far the easiest way to unlock Exotic Skills is to complete World Boss Events, which occur every single Endgame match and are almost impossible to fail. When you complete one, you'll be given an Exotic Skill. Then, if you complete another, you'll have the chance to keep and upgrade your current Exotic Skill, or trade it out for another one.
All Exotic Skills in Endgame
To see what you're possibly going to get through the Exotic Skills, here's a list of every skill and its description:
- Mega Punch - Your weapon butt gets replaced with a deadly punch that knocks back enemies and deals more damage.
- Conjuration - Kill enough enemies, and you can summon Toxin Butterflies that harass and damage enemies.
- Echo Shell - Drastically reduces damage taken from behind.
- Celebration - Enemies damaged or affected by Equipment have a chance to trigger Mortar Rounds that target enemies.
- Frost Cloud - Enemies damaged or affected by Equipment have a chance to trigger a Frost Cloud that slows enemies.
- Resurrection - On fatal damage, become temporarily invulnerable instead of dying. Available once per match.
- Shattered Shield - Stuns and damages nearby enemies when Armor Plates break.
- Graviton Reaction - Taking melee hits can spawn a Black Hole that damages and displaces enemies.
It's up to you to decide which Exotic Skill is best for you, but you certainly have a ton of options.
